I played the original Mafia when it first came out. I was dazzled at the game and it was one of those rare pieces that stay with you forever. A true reference.
I also played the other Mafia installments that came afterward.
When I heard they were making a remake, I was overwhelmed with joy. Then I realized it was Hangar 13 that had made the remake. I really disliked Mafia 3 game mechanics and felt apprehensive about this Edition.
Unfortunately, I was right to be concerned. Quite contrary to the original one, this one is quite anticlimactic.
The realism is non-existent, the combat is terrible, the ballistics are worse, the close combat fighting is ridiculous and the game itself is too arcade.
While the original game had more interesting weapon mechanics and even more concrete names, this one just makes it too generic.
The movement is not great either. Totally feels like a kid's game.
The essence of the game is completely gone.
Severe disappointment.
