Unplayable

The Instrument of Doom, bringing down the Hammer. the Apocalypse has begun, the End is at Hand.

+ Good looking graphics
+ More Content and enemy diversity than RE7
+ Returning to previously visited locations often brings unique rewards
+ Dimitrescu castle is good even if inferior to RE2 Police station in terms of gameplay

- Game is amazing at introducing interesting characters and then utterly wasting them
- The theoretically good open world is constantly hampered by locked doors and hidden Points of no return
- Story was written by complete amateurs, it makes little to no sense
- Most characters are braindead, including the protagonist
- Game had great potential to provide a bit of a sandbox experience, with unique ways to play it. Instead, it is completely on rails
- Game is extremely unintuitive, especially at some of the earliest fights in the gamer: Endless hordes of enemies attacking the player who is not informed he should hole up for as long as possible, unkillable enemies chasing you
- 3rd person is rushed and not worth it
- Cutscenes, cutscenes everywhere

There is much that is wrong with this game, but the game's climax is something to behold.

Building Shaders

Exemplary enemy variety, engaging combat and on the whole an outstanding re-imagining of a genre-defining classic.

Lack of multiple autosaves and some writing issues can get very annoying but otherwise a great game.
