For everyone else...

This is a well done tactical story based adventure, where you can raise a hero from nothing to legend. The events do get repetitive after a while, but between the high replayability and customizable difficulty, it is hard to become bored. Do be prepared for a lot of reading though.

Fun little timewaster one can play for a few minutes. Games are short Not only do you have to worry about symbols, but items too. Figuring out the combos is half the fun and losing doesn't feel like you lost much.

I have mixed feelings about this game. One can compare this to freelancer, where you have full freedom to do as you wish, tackling problems to your own play style. The bad is that this game is woefully incomplete. As of writing this, the story only takes you through the first of four sectors. In addition to that, factions are only implemented for the first sector. There is also no method currently where you could go full outlaw and get on good terms with the pirates.

The real sticking point is the price. $40 for what feels like only a quarter of a game in terms of depth. I do hope that the devs behind this game do pull through and complete the title, but as it is now, the price is rather high for the small amount of content provided here. You can complete the current story in 7 hours and 100% what is currently available on about 13 hours.

Still, what I have seen here is enough for me to keep an eye on this title for future content.

While this game is overall good... there is no clear replay value to be had here. Essentially a board game that is only entertaining the first time.

So I gave this a spin, but...

In Space engineers at least, you are given problems, and the tools to build solutions to those problems. This game on the other hand feels empty in comparison. For the creative builder, there is a lot to do here but for the utilitarian builder, there doesn't seem much to do at a glance. The tutorial is little more than reading a few signs with little in demonstration or learn by action.

I am going to have to give this one a pass for now. Not bad, with a good bit of promise, but the game needs more time in the oven.

Ah Ironseed. A hidden gem of the 90's. I played this one 25 years ago. A 1MB file hidden among 600 others on a CD. This remake is quite faithful the the original, though the difficulty has now been notably reduced. I haven't played enough to know if all of the old systems are here, but what I see so far has been quite impressive.

If you are tired of all the "newer" games that put graphics over gameplay, give this one a go.

There are not enough games where playing the evil one is done right, and the layers that this game offers, even in its current state, is diverse enough where most can find a style to their liking. I find myself going the lich route often, playing a slow battle of stealing villagers one by one only to add them to my ranks later.

A lot of this game, particularly once you reach the custom maps, is looking at what you have available to use, and exploiting those angles. The trick however is to find one solid strategy and run with it, as a few angles will conflict with one another (Cultists and abductors don't mix). Always using the same strategy will not work, as you will not always have the foundation or tools needed to start those plans (Looking at you necronomicon and dragon.) At the same time, sometimes you can win while doing nothing at all. I had one town that got destroyed by spiders while I was elsewhere plotting.

TLDR: Raise monsters to ransack the town, turn the villagers on each other, or throw poison, fire, and ice everywhere. The choice is yours.

As of this review, this game is in EA 0.1 Given that, I have found this puzzle game quite enjoyable. You start with small craft and move up to massive ships that you need to analyze structure, identify hazards, and figure out how to manage those hazards. While often some specific actions should be handled in order, largely how you go about dismantling your ship is up to your own style. The only complaint I have at this stage is the game suffers from some stability issues, and that there are only five ships you can cut up currently.

Looked good at a glance, but at this point, the game hasn't been updated in nearly 2 years! The devs have gone silent and you can just count this as just another abandoned title.
