The more you wait for something, the more your expectations grow. The greater your nostalgia, the more you want to see what burned out in your memory. My expectations were too high and the nostalgia for what I saw in my childhood was too strong... I wanted to fall in love again, but I can't. Relic, why?


Ten years of waiting for a new installment of the beloved RTS series is a gigantic period of time. This amount of time for AAA game studios is not enough, it is simply too much. A professional studio, which is undoubtedly Relic, over the years should create a game that will be a symbiosis of the first and second part of "Company of Heroes". They should create a game that was supposed to be a tribute to all fans of the series, the hard work of modders, people of e-sport, people who love simple gameplay and more... but this game is not that. There is no need to deceive yourself, this game is one big disappointment.


I'll start with what I've always started my adventure with each new installment of CoH, the single player campaign. The third installment of the series offers us two campaigns to start, each of which is bland. The campaign in North Africa, which was supposed to portray the ferocity and terrifying effectiveness of Erwin Rommel's army, became a low-quality novel about the local population, whose story is not engaging in any way. The package of missions included in this campaign was done quickly and passes literally fast, just like the Germans drove through Poland in 1939. The Italian campaign, which gameplay was supposed to be a hybrid of CoH and Total War, is a failed experiment that, like the African campaign, disappoints and discourages. Elements of grand strategy did not come out for good for Relic studio, and what hurts me the most is the blandness of cutscenes, which in the second CoH were sensational. The cheesiness of these stories, instead of annoying me, saddens me. The campaigns are banal, boring and unimaginative...


Company of Heroes 3 has a co-op mode, multiplayer and the custom game mode. As a man who spent a total of about 1000 hours in the previous parts, I could not wait to return to the fights against AI, which I loved so much. In CoH 3, the fight against artificial intelligence is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ joke. Playing with friends turns into a festival of terror, in which AI always dominates most of the map, not allowing for a counteroffensive. The number of units produced by AI is terrifying, and breaking through waves of enemies advancing on defensive lines is impossible to achieve. The density of enemy infantry is pure SPAM tactic, so-called blobing. Playing against experts is like trying to conquer the Soviet Union, no matter how many you kill, a million more will come in their place. Playing against easy AI – too easy, playing against "difficult"/normal AI – quite nice, playing against an expert – massacre and war crimes.

At the very beginning of the game, Relic decided to treat us with four factions to choose from, Afrika Korps, Wehrmacht, US Army and British. I liked the Wehrmacht the most, why? Because they are OP. The Afrika Korps have units to repair wrecks and return them to the battlefield, even if they are Allied vehicles. The British have my beloved Matildas, and the US Army is spreading democracy. Wehrmacht units are simply OP, and infantry are terminators. The conclusion is that the game is unbalanced, which frustrates and fills with colossal pessimism. You will enjoy the game as long as you play the Wehrmacht, or against normal AI. Otherwise, you will repeatedly experience the situation straight from Hitler's bunker in Berlin 1945.


The state of the game is deplorable, as evidenced even by the statistics. Players prefer Company of Heroes 2 instead of "three". That is frightening data. The latest part should encourage and build a community instead of scaring off trash and lack of content... In return, Relic placed a microtransaction store in the game. YES! You can buy skins for tanks, soldiers, etc. FOCUS ON THE GAME, RELIC! After all, you made this game with the support of modders, the most loyal fans. What the ♥♥♥♥ is wrong?! Company of Heroes 3 was based on elements of the first installment. You have a modding track record in the form of "Far East War". There are rumors that CoH 3 is to be extended to the Pacific Theatre. You have the material ready. There is such a thing as "Eastern Front", add USSR and Ostheer and make a chop like in CoH 2. The graphics are fine and the destruction module is really nice, the music is okay too.

Multiplayer does not work. It's boring. Stats don't work, after every match you are thrown out of the lobby, there are no drops after each match like in CoH 2, there are no skill trees, no commanders, no battle groups except for the three base ones... Is it really a AAA game? Is this my Company of Heroes?


I want to fall in love with this game. I want CoH 3 to be what the first and second Company of Heroes are to me. I want CoH 3 to be a game that will continue what the first and second installment of the series did. I want CoH 3 to absorb me for thousands of hours. I want CoH 3 to be the perfect game. However, these are the dreams of a decapitated head... I will not list the pros and cons, because the disadvantages are the vast majority. I'm going to play this game because the community fixes it. There are people like ADLER and Lady Rytsu who are pushing it forward. However, I would like Relic, not the community to care about the game they released barely three months ago.
