Review Showcase
I bought this DLC for full price, thinking I could spice up another Tyranny playthrough with some new content. When I finally made my way to the new Bastard's Wound area, I was very disappointed. So incensed was I, in fact, that I decided to write my very first review on Steam.

Other reviewers have mentioned the fact that the new content feels like base game material that was cut. It does, but the worst part is the fact that the Bastard's Wound DLC itself feels like an incomplete product. There are no new factions, none of the actions taken in the DLC affect already existing factions, and several NPCs have dialogue that imply the existence of a quest, but without giving one. While disappointing, none of this really bothered me as the new quest hub and the quests you do have access to feel like a worthwhile addition to the world of Tyranny.

The problem is the bugs. I've had to load and reload multiple times due to game-breaking bugs that have not been patched in the months since release, losing hours of gameplay at a time. The final straw was broken when I found myself completely unable to progress without replaying the entirety of the DLC content because of a bug. I'll refrain from spoiling anything because I do feel that if and when a patch gets released, the content will absolutely be worthwhile. But as it stands, most players will be unable to progress through the new content without encountering multiple game breaking bugs.

As it stands, Bastard's Wound is far overpriced for the great number of serious bugs and the relative lack of new content. If you must have it, buy it on sale, but I do not recommend playing through the new content until the major bugs are patched.
