From a J-RPG player with finicky tastes:

I'm not into SAO at all, but this was a very fun game to play for the story, characters, gameplay and fun customisation (which is a bit rarer in japanese games). The main bulk of the game is a tad repetitive but I think it throws enough different activities at you to keep you playing up until the story's conclusion at least. Side content / DLC is ok but missable, and I'd say the same thing for the multiplayer. The game apparently got me hooked for over 50 hours which was pleasantly surprising.

You don't need to like or even know about SAO's universe: I'd recommend it if you like Anime, J-RPGs, A-RPGs and character customisation.

A bit janky in terms of mechanics and a broken arcade boss, but still one of the funniest fighting game there is. Hope Neo-Geo makes a third one one day.

Played it without VR, and except for a sound bug requiring me to restart the game twice, this game is an absolute beast in this PC version. I'm envious of people who'll get to experience Z.O.E. 2 for the first time, you're going to have a blast. It's rare nowadays that a character action game makes your fingers hurt on hard mode (prepare to swap fingers to hit that Dash button), this will happen with this game.

The music is eerie, the models designed by Shinkawa still look slick, the game play is so reactive. The Dub and the translation is still crap, but it's a "corny" kind of crap, so it's okay (Japanese dub Konami ? Come on it's 2018 and this game is basically an anime, get your fingers out...). Also warning, the story is a bit short (maybe 8 hours on normal difficulty), although there's a lot of extra things in there, you have to experience this game like a movie experience.

This game is still amazing though, do yourself a favour and jump in, and we might get a third one by miracle.

Worth every single penny. It's an amazingly deep game, both in story (thought-provoking like a Persona game) and gameplay (as stylish as a good Devil May Cry game).

Close second GOTY 2017 for me, right after Persona 5. Platinum Games at its best.
