A little easier than Sekiro in my opinion, which is great news for me because I never got far in that game. Needs polish, but that's exactly what early access is for. My computer is essentially two hamsters and a potato, and I was able to run the game smoothly on low graphics, only crashed once. Didn't encounter any game breaking bugs, more of a few visual things and clipping. Most annoying one was when falling into water, I would fall into water multiple times before it put me on solid ground. Second boss is a jump in difficulty, but its a good fight in the sense of "You have to know how to deflect, dance around your opponent by now or you won't make it further" kind of fight. Having said that, I DID put nearly every level up point into Vitality (ended at lv22), and I swear the fight just.... ended when it had like a tenth of his health left.

All in the game is VERY rough, and needs quite a bit of work, but it has a LOT of potential! I really want to see how far this game will go and will be playing it after every update. I'm looking forward to more weapons and spells first and foremost.

I love the Castlevania 64 feel to the game with the graphics, and the movement feels great. The only complaint I currently have is that wall kicking has to be at the almost EXACT right angle. Combat isn't the greatest, but its clearly not the focus of the game. So far I only just got to the Tower and I have 2 of the big keys, so I know I haven't unlocked everything. Really looking forward to 100%ing the game! Its fun, and its cheap! If you want just a fun little movement game with some platforming challenge than I highly recommend this!

Labyrinth of Refrain: Coven of Dusk is a very bloated dungeon crawler. It has too many ideas and it tries to execute them all at once. There is a LOT you have to keep track of and there is a lot of room for min-maxing, which becomes mandatory instead of optional like most games. Sure if you wanna hit the bonus dungeon it makes sense that you need to min-max, but you wanna get the true ending? I hope you like doing a lot of grinding and figuring out the EXACT units and covens you need. For example, to get the true ending you have to beat some super strong bosses. There is a boss in the true ending that REQUIRES a specific coven to even defeat.

Pros:

+ Colorful cast of characters
+ Good music
+ Lots of room to experiment
+ Very rarely pallet swaps, so there are a ton of unique enemies

Cons:

- Very repetitive and grindy
- The story feels like there's two things going on at the same time
- The story and gameplay are extremely disconnected
- A lot of the things you get are almost immediately outclassed by something else in the next stage
- Menus are horribly crowded, and there is no fast way to swap between them
- You will find most super bosses by accident and will be instantly TKO'd by them

Most games like this are obviously a huge time investment, however this one has very little pay off.

Now that I have finally beaten the boss on the first difficulty, I feel as though I can write this review. Until You Fall is a rouge-lite for VR, and its a combat VR game done right. Even on the easiest difficulty, the game is still challenging in a good way. It requires you to learn the enemies attacks and patterns, and gives you a slow but steady difficulty increase.

Pros:

++ Easy to learn
++ A very straight forward rouge-lite, with no hidden requirements
++ Unlocking weapons will happen naturally and doesn't require anything special other than defeating certain foes or getting to a certain point
++ Combat is fluid and you have to be patient
++ Enemies will delay their attacks when you aren't focused on them for a few seconds and will give you time to react

Cons

-- No hidden requirements means no secrets to unlock or discover, leading to a very linear game
-- Enemies will tend to crowd you and can clip into you, making it difficult to see who's attacking you
-- The more difficult parts of the game are just longer fights with enemies having more health.

Overall I can easily recommend Until You Fall. Not only is it a great VR game but if its the perfect start for rouge-likes in general for VR. If other games can do this, then its another example of VRs bright future

Its like Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia is put into the setting of Salt and Sanctuary. The world is dark and the atmosphere is gloomy, but the music keeps it from being truly oppressive. The dodge is very responsive and can be used mid-air to great effect. People who are fans of 2D Dark Souls and Metroidvanias will feel right at home in this game, and scratches an itch I didn't know I had.

Pros:

- Response gameplay, nothing has felt clunky
- Distinct art style, very easy to see what hit you and where enemies are
- Enemies have telegraphed attacks and won't just immediately swipe at you
- Exploration is rewarded
- Map sections will glow when everything is collected
- Music is wonderful

Cons:
- You'll have non-glowing areas a lot, as there will be several things you cannot get yet
- You don't have a lot of hp and everything hurts
- You can't aim your attacks
- Sub-weapons have limited uses
- Despite being a Metriodvania game, map is fairly linear

I'm not gonna lie, I never heard of this game, but Mili (the person who has done several songs for Library of Ruina), posted that she did the music for this game, so support her and the game!

Pros:

+++ Amazing music once again. Each floor has its own music
+++ Wonderful story. Those who have played Lobotomy Corporation will greatly enjoy that you get to go more in-depth of the characters and the world
+++ It does an amazing job at world building, despite the fact that we see so little of it
+++ You don't actually need to play Lobotomy Corporation in order to understand what's going on and who the characters are
+++ You are encouraged to experiment with deck builds to both fully understand the mechanics as well as the benefits of each floor
+++ The game has a decent difficulty curve that remains fairly challenging at most stages of the game
+++ Each floor has 5 "Puzzle Battles", that have no drawbacks on failing, and have great rewards for when you complete them

Cons:

--- RNGesus hates you
--- While the game has a decent difficulty curve, it does have two major spikes
--- There are "boss" battles, but you will receive no warning of when or where, and can easily force you to go back and grind
--- Having the game be both a card AND dice game causes some parts of the gameplay to feel lackluster
--- The "Puzzle Battles" can get really frustrating, especially about halfway through the game
--- In order to get certain cards and classes you will have to repeat levels as the drop is random

All in all I think Library of Ruina is an amazing game, and has quickly become easily one of my absolute favorites. I cannot wait for the game to be completed and it gets something added almost every week. Project Moon is a wonderful developer and despite some rather harsh things from "fans", they still put so much love and work into this game.

A word of caution however: This game, like its predecessor, is difficult. When I say RNGesus hates you, I mean it hates you on the same level that Darkest Dungeon hates you.
