As someone that has played every retail FF to date I can certainly tell you this about FF 16:
If you're looking for an interactive cinema level story then this is the game for you and will provide a 10/10 experience. If you're hoping for a game that provides any sort of challenge or decision making you will be sorely disappointed.
The gameplay is more akin to a toned down Devil May Cry where ultimately the items and accessories you select for the single character you control are wholly irrelevant. (I personally ran the entire game with three accessories that provided bonus gil, EXP and AP but they are ones that quite literally dodge and attack for you). At no point did I ever feel challenged by the enemies and rarely did I need to use any consumables.
