The PSN fiasco notwithstanding, this game has the best direction and underlying ethos of any game I have played in a long time, possibly ever. And with the PSN issue resolved, and *presumably* access to the restricted countries being restored soon, that is no longer a stain on the splendor that is this game.

My notes:
- The gameplay is an absolute blast. You gradually unlock 9 different difficulties, and the rewards for playing each aren't dramatically different. Once you get to 7 you can get every single thing you can get at 9, just a bit slower. So for the most part you can simply play at the level you are comfortable at.
- The developers are active within the community
- The flow of information is good and informative, without feeling like an advertisement to rope you into paying more.
- There is a special edition, but I somehow managed to purchase the game without even realizing it existed, as it isn't pushed.
- There is a premium currency that can be purchased, but it can also be acquired in game from regular play. I did purchase some to boost myself into the first few Warbond packs (because I also wanted to support the game) but now the flow of supercredits makes me thing I may never have to buy any again as long as I keep playing.
- The Warbonds also aren't time gated. If you come in late you can choose to tackle them in any order, you won't be cut off from old weapons or gear just because you weren't playing at the correct time to get it.
- The developers are intent on keeping the game balanced, so all upgrades you can acquire through the currency systems feel like diversification, not like pure improvement. There is constant buffs and nerfs to different weapons
- No PVP. This game encourages all players of the game to get along and coordinate. Most players are helpful, and judgement of inexperience is limited. They really are trying to foster an environment of cooperation with minimal to no competition.
- It's almost an afterthought, but the graphics are also glorious. The different biomes, environmental effect, procedurally generated maps make for a varied and gorgeous play experience (even if playing in a blizzard with bug spores at night can feel intimidating as heck as you can barely see anything)
