Really fun game!
The art and characters are great <3
the soundtrack is very addictive and "popping"
it is a bit short, but it is very fun even finding all the secrets
i would definitely recommend buying the art book and recipe to support vanripper
also to follow him on the social media since he uploads a lot of nice comic featuring the characters in game (which is how i found the game)

I never got around to finishing the talos principle and im probably not intending to do it
BUT and there is a big but
they did one thing very right
they posed very good and meaningful questions about philosophy
and all the little details in the game are great
ive got to say i know a lot about the game from videos because the puzzles just dont do it for me
but i would highly recommend anyone to listen to the time capsules
the voice acting by Erin Fitzgerald there is really good and well delivered and are probably the best part of the game

A Great Love Letter To Greek Mythology

Hades is really an amazing game from supergiant
i really loved bastion back in the day and once i heard its coming out i 100% bastion just to get to this gem
Hades is a rougelike game in which you play as Hades son Zagreus who only wishes to escape hades (the underworld not to be confused with the god)

Gameplay
The gameplay in hades is much like basiton but with rougelike elements, the more you play the stronger and better you get
you have a simple combat that is very dynamic, good features that keep you playing it and pretty normal RNG mechanics like in a lot of rougelikes (isaac or rouge legacy for one)

Graphics
the graphics in hades arent anything new, but there was one good choice about them, much like bastion they chose to go with a smooth drawn style that will keep it through the test of time also lightning and colors are very vibrant and fun

Story
The story in hades is probably stronger than its graphics or gameplay
im a sucker for greek mythology and it has it all: the gods, the heroes, items , monsters and a lot of lore that is just very nice
i think it just gets better the more you learn and would recommend it to anyone who likes greek myths and a bit of challenge
9.5/10

Bastion is a stunning game with satisfying gameplay amazing music and beautiful backgrounds
Gameplay: 8/10
the gameplay in bastion is a pretty simple hack n slash from a birdeyes view
you have a great arsenal of weapons who all feel unique and satisfying to play
on top of that each weapon is upgradeable and customizeable which makes it less repetetive
Story: 7/10
the story in bastion focuses around the kid and the world he lives in in which there is a conflict between the race of the uras and the city of caelondia
its pretty good but it isnt what carries the game and keeps you playing since its pretty straightforward and obvious
Looks: 8.5/10
the game really is stunning it has a very unique style
the player finds himself on platforms above and abyss with some land which get built and destroyed as you progress through the stages
a good choice that makes games that have been around for so long still relevant is the artstyle,
they are not trying to make the game look hyper realistic and going for a more "cartoony" style which i find works the best when the game ages
the character design is very memorable and a few added hand drawn pieces are very appreciated
Soundtrack: 9.5/10
Bastion's soundtrack is really where i find it to shine, it has a lot of good background music which is really catchy and upbeat and makes 3 playthroughs for the 100% more bearable
it has a mix of western style ambient music and relaxed nature music with fun instruments
I must point that the 3 spoken songs are the best in my opinion and are really touching and befitting for the narrative
and even if you will play the game once youll remember the songs

Post game: 6.5/10
The post game is where bastion kinda falls short in my opinion
i started new game plus in order to 100% the game and found it as a nice feature but not enough
even with all the idols activated i found the post game pretty easy to rush through and complete
although it does add another trip to who knows where and new game plus is always a welcome addition
i think there could have been more aside for the 4 challenges and score attack mode

Overall: 8/10
Bastion is a really unique game which i have been thinking about ever since the first time i played it when it came out, it really is a good example to what can be done with great creativity and limited resources and really is a game that i can appreciate more, i would reccomend any casual gamer to play through it atleast once and enjoy everything it brings to the table!

A game that didnt need to exist but im glad it does

Deponia doomsday is a fourth part to a trilogy, and its brilliant

Gameplay:
The gameplay in Deponia Doomsday is not too different from the last 3 games aside for quicktime events and few other small details
its very intuitive and i feel as if there are no red herrings

Story:
The story picks off where Goodbye Deponia left off (kind of...)
and has a lot of braintwists i personally enjoyed it as an excuse to see more of Rufus and the rest of the deponians
It's solid and filled with fanservice

Graphics:
I mentioned it in my complete journey review that the graphics in the Deponia series are kind of cartoony which is a very positive thing for the reason it makes the game stand in the test of time unlike other point and click adventures (daedalics or not)
they look crisp and have a lot of good animations for some actions, facial expressions are really good too

Overall:
Overall Deponia Doomsday is a great point and click game with loads and loads of good humor and scratches that itch to get more of the world and characters, I really like it and found myself playing it for loads and loads of hours
(except for that 1001 jackalopes achievement which took my hours upon hours of grinding, probably the hardest one in the series and i find it hard to believe 5% of the players did it without using any third party programs)
I see myself returning to Deponia Doomsday and the rest of the series in the future with feelings of nostalgia and happiness to know that some of the developers in daedalic really gave these games their all

I give Deponia Doomsday an all time classic for me a 10/10

I'm writing this review just as i finished the entire trilogy including all the achievements,
last week i got a little nostalgic so i decided i want to play deponia all over,
l had the complete journey in my library and decided ill use it for it
******
about the complete journey edition:
the most notable change about this version is that you have a full voiced commentary by one of the devs
in daedalic "poki" and i got to say its just so fun to listen to them
as someone who aspires to be a game dev i find the commentary very interesting and also very charming and humoristic , a real new experience
more changes in the version include: hints available through the invertory screen , a few dialogue and achievement changes , and a progress screen for each chapter.
*************
Now to the review part:
The Deponia trilogy as i remember it is just as humoristic and lighthearted as i remembered it
Most jokes hit home and the voice acting and animations really do make it a fuller experience
the gameplay is simple and easy to grasp
unlike other point and click adventure Deponia feels almost like it has no red herrings and anything can be used which makes it much less frustrating and hard to get stuck
Now to another part, The Puzzles
The puzzles in deponia are top notch, all puzzles are really clever and nice and the minigames are for the mostpart not too hard to understand and solve while being challenging they are like fun little sections to distract you from mixing items in your invertory
The protagonist of the series Rufus is a real special Hero
He is just the opposite of what you expect from a hero but he has his own charm
i find his character as the most amusing out of the bunch
The story is one place Deponia might fall short, It is a means to an end of getting Rufus in all sorts of wacky situations , not that theres anything wrong with it as long as you fall in love with the world of Deponia like i did
The only other big problem/glitch i had playing the game is for some reason one of the bonus videos was locked which annoyed me as a completionist, i dont know if its a glitch a troll or some hidden easter egg no one found but ill be happy to have an update with " leopard mode" and the extra cutscene
All in all the trilogy is definitely one of the Best point and click adventures out there and I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to get into the genre

A lot of heart went into making this game (and a lot of daedalics other games) and it shows they had fun making the game just as much as the players playing it

In conclusion I'm giving the game a 10/10 PLAY IT

I must say this is one of those "under the radar" titles but always sometimes monsters is a unique adventure
