This is the only Dragon Quest game that I have played, so I can't compare to other DQ games, but this one really works for me. The visuals are gorgeous with the colors and art style they went with. I'm a huge fan of the story, characters, and combat so I would recommend checking it out as well.

The main character is the only flop - you know, silent type that only nods.... but your companions overpower his lameness so it's okay.
