Really fun campaign. New units are really cool.
I think on realms of chaos Malakai probably doesn't need the grudge mechanics the unique legendary battles give you a lot of useful units

I really wanted to like this game but i think the core mechanics are just clunky,

Compared to a dead cells or a hollow knight where the controls and enemy design are interlinked this game is not.
Particularly for melee characters you will face a lot of floating enemies which will take 2-3 hits of a clunky timed jump attacks its super tedious and meticulous to get openings in too many rooms.
Things like interrupting enemy attacks, taking damage just from enemy attacks rather than contact damage & attacks, iframes on the dodge could have made the game feel very different.

On top of this this the legacy is significantly more impactful then the rogue elements. The bosses while animated awesomely with cool attacks are really just stat checks to make sure your damage has been leveled enough to make the fight not a complete slog.

I'ts really good.
Community is good and communicative.
Gameplay loops mixes strategic and tactical thinking.
The logistics make the game really interesting.
The tutorial is a little sparse but get's you into the game. In my experience if you tell someone your new you'll get plenty of tips.

The devs have never done anything to improve smurfs or griefers.
I can't understand why you cant at least surrender why do you have sit through the bs listed above?
Why isn't there a casual gamemode which plays the same as the main game so you don't need to smurf to play with friends?
Devs have no interest in making the lower ranks funs.

Game is buggy.
Sound has not worked for months and has not been fixed.

Knife piece requirements to fight mother in this games are simply go against what is good about isaac.
Core of Isaac for me was building your run and trying to keep going even when items are unfavourable. Trying to turn your run around.
The knife pieces are just not aligned with this.
Knife piece 1 dieing in 1 hit is ridiculous the rooms is insane, so much random damage that can get you and its run over. Nothing you can do about this but be really lucky.
Knife piece 2 can be tricky but at least you have your hp and you can get good. But it is just not alligned with the rest of the run and strips of your build. I don't enjoy the gameplay in this part.

Hopefully they fix this and make like you only have to do it once. If you want to get the item you can do it again. If they fix this the rest of the game i really enjoy.

+ Generally item rebalancing has been good

Post Anniversary update i'm changing my feelings on this. I think this game is now complete.
The gameplay is top notch & addictive.
Launch was not good and incomplete.
Good on the devs for delivering what they said

Positives :
+Intense gameplay,
+works great with a gamepad.
+unique controls

Negatives:
-Have to do levels in groups of 5 if you die on level 5 have to go back to level 1 and repeat. To me this just feels tedious having to track through earlier levels to get another attempt at a trickier part later on.
