This free-to-play extraction shooter is ruining my nerves. The tension when you ty to exit the map with your backpack full of good stuff is amazing. You need some hours to understand all mechanics, but then you will see how you evolve from being prey to being a predator. Not because you geared up, but because you learned the meta of the game. Highly recommended. (playing on Xbox most of the time)

Heliborne, where do I start...
This is an arcade Helicopter game that lets you pilot a variety of military helicopters beginning with some early models up to some current day models.
You can play co-op missions with up to 4 players in which you can set the mission-parameters to your liking.
So it can be a walk in the park or it can be a mission that makes you sit on the edge of your seat and bite your keyboard.
As of writing this review, there are players playing this game. Not many, but most of the time you will find ppl to play with. The co-op players seem friendly and it is usually fun to communicate with them via the voiced pre-set in-game communication commands or by regular chat. (no in-game voice-chat).
However, the game has a horrible and unintuitive user interface.
It seems that finding out how to create a co-op mission is a task that most of the players are not able to do, they rather wait for someone to open a match and then join the game.

Of course there is also a versus mode which also lets you customize the winning parameters and player count.

There is also a campaign mode, but I put that aside really fast in favor of the motivating coop gameplay.

(Make sure to play the original version of the game and not the modernized, as it is a total mess. You can pick the "Oldborne" version on startup.)

As a big fan of the old helicopter games like Desert Strike, Choplifter and Jungle Strike,
It feels great playing this unpolished diamond.

The futuristic bullet-hell Binding of Issac-clone that you have never heard of!

I always was afraid of bullet-hell games.
I thought they are too difficult.

So here comes Starward Rogue.
It has lots of difficulty settings and lots of different starting mechs.
This allows you to adjust the game to your liking.
It can be a walk in the park or be an absolute misery, you decide!

There is a mech that makes the enemies and bullets stop while you are not moving or shooting. (Similar to the game "Superhot")

The variety of items, perks, updates and weapons (be it as a drop, or bought in a shop) is more than enough to keep you busy for dozens of hours.

The levels have teleports which help you traverse them faster, so you do not have unnecessary backtracking through empty rooms.

The soundtrack is driving the game forward. Pretty much like in all the other games by this developer.

And it has lots of achievements which encourage you to play the game in different ways.

Although the developer seems to constantly be struggling financially, the game is still being supported and there was even content added recently. (Thanks partly to the help of the active modding/-community)

So if you are looking for a little change from playing "Binding of Issac" or "Hades",
this game is a welcome (and affordable) addition to the genre of the "Isaac-likes"

Die nette Grafik und durchweg gelungene Sprachausgabe (vor allem Nora Tschirner, der man einfach gerne zuhört)
schaffen es leider nicht die gameplay- und storytechnischen Schwächen wettzumachen.

Ein paar Gags waren da, die Story insgesamt hat mich nicht wirklich gepackt.
Für die Charaktere habe ich kaum Sympathie entwickelt.

-Halbgare Schnellreisefunktion,
-nerviges hin- und hergelaufe (ja ich weiß, das gibt es in vielen Adventures, aber hier war es besonders nervig.)
-kein richtiges Kombinieren von Gegenständen.
-das Ende hat mich auch nicht beeindruckt.

Wenn ihr wirklich schon ALLE guten Adventures (z.B. LucasArts, wadjet eye games) durch habt, dann ist es wohl einen Blick wert.

Abgesehen vom interessanten Grafikstil (der leider nicht durchgehend überzeugt) und Nora Tschirner wird mir das Spiel wohl nicht in Erinnerung bleiben. Und wenn ich dran denken werde, dann wohl immer mit dem Gefühl, dass ich gerne mehr Spaß damit gehabt hätte.

Imagine being a little boy going on a camping trip with your friends,
but suddenly you wake up on a spaceship
and together with two aliens and your Gametron you are going to save the galaxy.


This adventure was so funny and charming.
It has really great writing, (oldschool-)graphics and music.
The puzzles are not too hard and there is a walkthrough guide in case you get stuck.
It can be played with a controller, but mouse-input is much more comfortable.
You should definetly give this game a try if you are a fan of the old Lucasarts adventures.

Don´t be fooled.
At first glance this game may look low effort and with memes in mind.
But what you get is a carefully directed, awesomely scripted, perfectly orchestrated feel-good game.
The humor, the charm and the artstyle can be appreciated by young and old alike.

10/10 puts a smile on your face every other minute!

Probability 0 is an amazing, well executed piece of game design.
But not only of game design, but also on life in general.
I, for myself, found a philosophical depth and meaning in the game
that I hardly found elsewhere. (The free-to-play game "The Plan" comes to my mind)

Your mission in Probability 0 is to reach the bottom.
The screen is automatically scrolling downwards and you are not allowed (neither on top, nor on bottom) to exit the screen.
Your probability to ever reach the bottom of this pit is ZERO.

On your way down you are confronted with obstacles, "enemies", experience and choices.
It is up to you to:
-decide how to approach these things
-how to evolve yourself
-how to find a strategy to go further and further down.

The environment is procedually generated, but the choices, obstacles and enemies evolve in a linear fashion.
It is in many aspects akin to the roguelike genre regarding permanent death.
And pretty much the only thing you will carry on to your next playthrough will be your personal experiences from the past games and especially your "mistakes" from which you will hopefully learn, and by that, improve your strategy for the next playthrough.

It is a game where you have to make constant risk/reward decisions.
Will you be bold, or cautious?
Maybe both?

I can already tell you what the ending screen of your playthrough will look like,
you will end up dead. But what matters is:

This game is a loveletter to Sid Meier´s classic Sword of the Samurai.
Thanks to its extensive and dedicated modding community Mount & Blade: Warband offers almost unlimited (re-)playability in single- as well as in its (still) active multi-player.

Even after playing for hundrets of hours you will find some new cool animation or function in the game that just makes you drop your jaw in awe.

The combat system is rather unique and involving, as it includes velocity at impact.
Every fight is a ballet of death which can last for the fraction of a second or up to several minutes.

Every big battle is dependant on it´s commanders (your!) strategy.
Will your army prevail, or flee in wild panic?
Do you serve a king? Fight against a king? Fight as a king? Fight as a queen?
Will you be known around the kingdom? Will you be feared?
It is all yours to decide which way you, your warband, and perhaps even your people will go.

Are you ready to find out the truth about Fathermother?

Zeno Clash is a short and stylish first person action-brawler with some shooter elements.
It utilizes valves source engine (made famous by Half-Life 2) which allows for some nice destructibility of objects as well as extensive simulation of physics.
Its linearity perfectly serves the tight atmosphere.
However linear the maps/levels are, you will always find enough to please your eyes.
Lots of strange objects and creatures are crammed into the maps.
Add to that the lore/story told and it sums up to something amazing.
(Just think Salvador Dali, Sergio Leone, Alejandro Jodorowsky and Luc Besson)

It is not the easiest game and it may happen that you die more often than you wish for,
but when you stick through it, you will be granted an experience that stays with you long after having finished the game.

You can often find this game discounted on steam and it is worth every single penny.

The Last Tinker is a charming game which quickly got me emotionally engaged and made it really easy for me to relate to the protagonists on my journey.
The story is an all-ages adventure with exciting characters which all have their own motivations and place in the game world. I really liked the colors and the animations.

There is no jump-button. All you need is to step off a ledge for example and your character will jump automatically. Similar to the jump mechanics in Zelda games.
Almost all of the negative reviews for this game are complaining about this aspect because buyers were not aware of it beforehand.

It is a solid game with easy puzzles, a bit of character leveling, some secrets placed around the levels and enemies to fight.

This kind of game is rarely found on the PC and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I suggest this game to players that are open towards all-age stories that come with lots of humor and some popculture references.
It is uniquely charming and gave me a warm fuzzy feeling inside.
Buy it cheap on sale or at full price. You will likely not regret it.
