This is a tough one. I like the game and I had no issues with this port whatsoever (Win10), but that doesn't mean this game has no flaws, it has plenty. I took the time to beat it, as other reviewers here, just to close an unfinished chapter on my gaming life lol.

- Pros:
* The main cast is interesting and entertaining. Would've loved to see them interact more.
* The atmosphere is great and SOME areas have a really creative design.
* The voodoo lore is used in a cool way.
* The concept of powerups related to fire and darkness is great.
* The temples feel like a trial and have an intricate design, so it's cool when you get to the end and get an ability.

-Cons:
*Massive amounts of backtracking, just to get a bit further into an area, and then to leave again to get another powerup so you can come back, again and again. I don't mind the lack of a map in a game, but when it is this messy it would've been really helpful.
*The combat is way too clunky, easy and repetitive. You eventually start ignoring a bunch of enemis due to backtracking. Lots of weapons are cool but worthless.
*There are a lot of paths that are easy to miss, and you need to have a really good memory to backtrack to the right places when the time comes.
*The powerups don't change that much the game experience and don't feel that rewarding after you pick them. They should become the core mechanic of certain areas, but it feels like you go through A LOT to get an upgrade, just to access a new zone and that's it.

It's hard to recommend but I have to admit I had fun in this painful experience, and this game had the potential to be something special.
