Great potential, just like any other games that's still in pre-alpha.

It's fun for a very short while and then the outstandingly low amount of content quickly makes you wonder how a game that needed 350.000$ to get done with a kickstarter, that ended up earning over 1.000.000$ in sales in only ONE week (In January 2014 when it was released as early access) can still be in in such a poor state. Considering development started in 2012 for this game, how much more money or time do you need to get out of pre-alpha?

Another good example of how buying unfinished products is bad for the industry.

This is a good game. Seems very simplistic at the start but it does get interesting, while staying fairly basic control-wise. The story is nice but doesn't have that much depth to it, can't help it much tho, it's a short game with very few characters.

What caught my eye at first was how the main character looks totally like a Swordsman(female) from Ragnarok Online, and turns out her "sis" is clearly copied on a High Priest from that game too! *Mini-spiler alert*I laughed when she started using spells basicaly directly from Ragnarok like agi-up and magnus exorcismus. It's weird that a full game with it's own story still had to copy that much for the main characters on another game.

Anyway, was fun. Enjoy!

My favorite game in a long time, couldn't get tired of it. Very challenging and rewarding, yet enjoyably frustrating at times. Highly recommend.

***Also highly recommend not buying this version for it's a massive scam, another "re-release" of the game as been announced that will have all the dlcs included, better graphics, enhanced multiplayer and their own servers, which means this game you are looking at right now will soon be completely obsolete.

If you want this game, which is actually awesome, do wait for “Scholar of the first sin.” so you don't screw yourself over with this dirty scam by From Software.

This isn't a big game, but it's a pretty cool game with a lot of good replay value. This is the kind of game that is easy to get into, but takes longer to master.

Anyway, I know some people would say that the crafting is a bit tedious but when you get the hang of it it's about as simple as they could make it. You craft most items by mixing 2 of the same together using shift. The only thing is, for example, if you want to make an axe handle (stick + stick), if you split your stack of sticks in halves and then mix them together you will get a ton of axe handles you don't want. Instead left click the stack of stick to pick it up, right click another inventory spot to place only one there, place back the stack, then mix them. I have to agree it does sound a bit tedious, but it takes like 2 seconds in games really.

Inventory tend to fill up quickly too, but people need to realize that they actually save inventory space by mixing(crafting) items ONLY as they need them. If you have 5 stones, it takes only 1 spot. If you turn them into bars (stone + stone) you wll have 1 stone and 2 bars, which takes 2 spots. Even if you had 4 stones and turned everything into bars, the next things you will grab will be stones, not bars. Also, there comes a time that you know what to keep and what not. There's a lot of items that you won't really use depending on your build, so that can help clearing more of your inventory as you go.

Also, some people seem to complain that the game is too unforgiving with the permanent death thing. Just keep in mind that this isn't skyrim or anything like that, you could beat the game in about an hour or less so saving the game really isn't needed. The whole point is to see how far you can get. Allowing restarts from check points would be just silly.

The only thing I don't like is that all the items can be unlocked in single player OR in multiplayer. While it sure makes it easier to get them all, it takes away from someone who obtained them alone. Here's an example: Unlocking a specific hat requires you to beat the game without talking to any npc. This means playing with little to no armor, which is the main issue you have to deal with. Meanwhile, if you are playing in multiplayer, you can unlock the hat easily by having your friends buy you armors and such, which defeats the idea of not talking to npcs.

Oh another thing, it's really a shame that there is no servers to match players together or anything like that. The only way is to get players to host the games for themselves and send IPs to people found in the magicite chat room (or personal friends of course). You may have to use hamachi to get it to work too. I guess it gets the job done tho, can't ask too much from a small game like this.

TLDR: It's a good game, inventory management isn't great but is actually fine, anything else than permanent death would be silly for a game like this and multiplayer can be fun, but somewhat tricky to get to work. You get plenty of fun for your 10$.
