TLDR: Just watch a let's play.

Gameplay: 4/10
-It's a weird combination of action & turn-based where you control characters live in the action, but keep stopping the action to make the characters do stuff. It might appeal to a niche souls-like audience who don't mind having the action interrupted all the time, or fans of the older FF style combat who don't mind being in a live environment while choosing their moves.

I actually started finding combat somewhat enjoyable only in the last few chapters. For the vast majority of the game, it felt like combat was there just so we can pretend like it's not just an interactive movie. When it wasn't brain-dead where you can just slash stuff until it dies, it was gimmicky and annoying to deal with more than else. Never felt actually satisfying.

RPG elements: 3/10
-Dealing with equipment and upgrades was little more than tedious maintenance every time it felt like it was time to upgrade my stuff, and even then it was in a "I guess I might as well" kind of way. It's mostly just a matter of increasing numbers so you can keep doing the same thing but with more oomph. The materia system gives you some options but then again, it's not like there's very many options that make sense anyway.

Story: VII/10
-It's convoluted and edgy, but compelling are intriguing. Can be hit or miss, lots of plot-armour moments. Left me with the impression that the lore in this game must be wide and deep like an ocean, but the game barely dips its toe in it.

Graphics: Wow/10
-It's a pleasure to watch. Every scene could be a desktop background. The characters look really nice too, which bring me to my next point...

The waifus: OMG/10
-The women in your team are easily some of the most top-tier waifus I've ever met in a video game. If they were real people, they would be near-universally seen as impossibly beautiful. On top of that, they're strong, impactful characters that essentially keep making the world better just by virtue of existing. It's unreal how enchanting they are.

Value for the money: lol/10
-You really have to think of this game as an interactive movie to enjoy it. The game aspect of it just seems to get in the way of the story you're trying to progress, without really being fun. It ranges from snooze-fest to tedious.

I can't recommend the game (especially at this ridiculous full price) because for anyone who looks at the game and think "This looks nice", well you're looking at great graphics, nice cutscenes, sweet characters, intriguing story, but that's all there is to really like here imo. You'd be much better off watching a playthrough where you'll get to enjoy all the best parts without having to suffer through the rest of it, like I wish I did.

I didn't even check what this DLC is for. This game is way too good to be free so I bought it to support them.

Early Access Review
This early-access has the potential to go from a very nice gameplay and building experience(already) to an absolutely outstanding building game that we'll play for years to come.

Turns out we'll have to make a Playstation account to keep playing this game. They also stated that we should leave a negative review if we don't think that's cool, so there we go.

I'll gladly change my review if they change their mind though, great game.

Edit: Sony changed their mind! Isn't great to see how our votes (reviews) matter?

Democracy ftw!

The game feels more like a proof of concept than anything. There is very little to do, but it's still relaxing and feels good.

There's only 2 reason why I can recommend this game:
1) It goes on sale 85% off, which makes it cheap enough to be worth it.
2) You could go through the entire game and still get it refunded under 2 hours if you don't mess around too much.

Early Access Review
This game is overpriced for what it is, but it is fun already. It's clearly a labour of love that will become something really awesome if it continues to evolve this way.

It would be hard to recommend right now, but it's getting annoying to see all the thumbs downs from people who say stuff along the lines of "I hope the dev doesn't get discouraged because it could be really good one day!" which seems counter productive. It's certainly worth it on sales anyway.

Even if I don't expect to play it for long right now, I'm glad to support it.

The game starts with good vibes, the concept is interesting and the gameplay is great. It's some good old megaman with a few updated controls for abilities and customisation down the line.

However it quickly becomes obvious that this game is absolutely plagued with everything that makes mobile games a hard skip for anyone who values their time. The story quickly devolves into a generic typical non-sense with all the boring cliches, over-the-top anime personalities and plot-twists you expect.

You might think "Oh I'll try the characters that seem fun and stick to that my favourite". Well even if you were to do that and skip the vast majority of this game's appeal, being that you can play as countless different characters, you'll still end up having to go back and upgrade your stuff just to keep up with the recommended power score.

Let's get started:

Okay, I want a new character.
-Go to the store, see what a characters are unlocked so far. Let's say X, looks interesting, let's check his abilities.
-Go back to main menu, then click on character prep to make another menu appear that lets you click on "character" and manually search through around 130 possible characters until you find the one you're looking for and check him out.
-He looks fun, go back to the store, buy a certain amount of "X memories" between 1 and 50. You need 40 to unlock the character but will need more to make him useful. Let's get 40 for now because we're just trying him out.
-Go back to menu, character prep, character, okay X is there ready to be unlocked so you unlock him.
-Go try him out, he feels the same as the previous character you had because you're using the same weapons, except with different abilities, but you barely even get a taste of those because you haven't unlocked most of them.
-Okay he seems fun, let's max him out.
-Go back to the store, by 50 X memories, you know you'll need more to max him out, but how many? Who knows for now.
-Go back and forth between the store and the character screen a couple times until you bought all the X memories you need without risking over-buying more than you need.
-Rank up the character up to 5 stars.
-Now we need better skills! Let's go to the skill tab and upgrade them using money as high as we can. You can only upgrade it up to a certain level depending on your player level, so you'll be coming back here all game long as you level up. Make sure you upgrade both skills.
-Go to the passive skill tab and unlock those as well otherwise your character is basically generic with nothing special. All of these are upgraded with money and some special upgrade materials you'll have to farm.
-Make sure to chose the best add-on's for each skills too! 3 options for each!
-Think we're done on the character? Well no, now we have to figure out what cards to use. You can have up to 3 cards and those can only be assigned to 1 character at a time even though you'll never use 2 characters at once, just for your inconvenience.
-The cards have different abilities that are active if you have the right combination of card colours. Each cards are 1 colour (out of 4) and have all kinds of different requirements to be fully active. Like 1 card could be blue and ask for 1 blue and 1 red for it's 1st ability, like maybe like +6% damage when using a buster, and 1 blue, 1 red and 1 yellow for it's 2nd ability that could be something like 30% chance to become immune to slow. Before you ask, no there's no search or filter options in the shop and no they're not sorted in any meaningful way, and yes it does take 4 clicks through the UI to open and close the ability information window for each card as you check them out while trying to figure out if there's any combination that even works and makes any sense for your build, assuming you have unlocked those you might need to begin with.
-So you found 3 cards that work well? Amazing! Go back to the character screen and assign them to X. Wait we're not done, don't you see there "lvl 1"at the top of the cards? Yeah they need to be upgraded too of course!
-Go back to main menu, character prep, and go to cards. Here's all the cards we already own, and now we can sort through these so it shouldn't be too hard to find the ones that you're using.
-Upgrade each cards as much as you can to increase the base ATK HP and DEF stats that they give by using either other cards (that are lost forever) or some other special card upgrading materials that you have to farm. How high can you upgrade them? Only as high as your current level (which increases basically every time you finish a stage btw) of course. So make sure to come back here and upgrade these cards all the time as you go!
-We're almost done already with the character, for now, but chances are you unlocked the ability to upgrade the character's DNA by now so while on the character screen, go to the last tab at the bottom this time, and upgrade it's 3 DNA's, which are basically just extra passive skills.

Okay cool let's try X again. He seems a bit more dynamic now with the upgrades but he's still pretty weak, why? Oh yeah we're using the same old buster. Let's fix that!

-Remember how annoying it was to unlock X to begin with going through the store a couple times to get those X Memories? Well it's the same thing again now, but with a weapon! Let's by a sword, and let's pretend like we remember exactly how many sword memories we need to buy to get it maxed out because that too needs to be 5 stars to be any useful. Let's just get the one that looks cool because it takes too long to go back and forth between the store to see what's unlocked and the weapon screen from character prep menu to see what abilities the weapons have. Hah! I got you there. Of course that would be a good enough reason, but this time you can't even see what the weapons do before you buy them! Why could you? It's not like it's a hassle to get them anyway, is it?
-Okay we unlocked the sword, let's go to the weapon screen.
-The weapon needs to be leveled up itself, how high? You guessed it, only as high as your player level by using a special weapon upgrading material that you'll have to farm! Remember to come back to upgrade your weapon as you level up!
-Let's go to the next tab, the upgrade screen! There's 5 stats here, ATK HP CRI LUCK and HIT, each of them need to be upgraded individually up to a certain temporary maximum depending on the weapon's level(the one that's capped by your player level) using money.
-Okay let's rank up the weapon now. Good thing we already bought all the sword memories we need at the store otherwise we would have to go back and forth now, so let's upgrade it up to 5 stars.
-Good, now we're ready to upgrade the weapon's skills! If you chose a weapon with good potential, chances are you have 6 passive skills to unlock and an extra one that rolls a random special passive skills from the weapon's own poll, you'll need to spend 5 extra weapon memories for that one so looks like you're going back to the store after all so you get one and again to re-roll until you get a good one.
-Some of the passive skills you unlocked here probably need to be upgraded too! Oh yes, that too is capped by weapon level. Remember to keep upgrading those as you go too!
-Okay we're done- wait, what's that chip tab? Oh yeah we need to get a chip on this weapon too if we really want to maximise it's usefulness.
-We're lucky, we already unlocked one as we went through the 1st few stages of the story. Well I say unlocked, what I mean is we earned enough memories to unlock one.
-Exit the weapon screen back to the main menu, then go to the chip menu screen.
-Actually unlock the chip. Let's pretend we're lucky enough that it's one that's compatible with the sword.
-Open the chip's menu.
-Looks like we got some work to do here to. Go to the Level up tab and level it up using some special upgrade materials for that.

*!DATA ERROR!*

Oh no I ran out of room on my comment and there's so much more to say!

This game is so good I actually feel bad that I bought it on sale.

It's easy to forget how most of the industry is losing it, always pushing micro transactions and day1 DLCs for a very average gaming experience, when you play a gem like this that is full of amazingly fun high quality content without ever making you think about your wallet.

Got a job for you 621. This request comes from a random steam reviewer: Get this game.

Gameplay is interesting, it just starts slow. Story isn't bad either, and it's not overdone like some other titles that waste way too much time with needless chatters.

You need to mod this game to get an enjoyable experience, especially when motivating.

**SPOILER BELOW**

I'm at the last boss at the moment and it's as far as I'll make it. It's just a grindfest to overpowered the RNG because she keeps attacking 1st with a good chance of paralysing the character you're trying to use, along with other annoying stuff like a 8~9 hit attack that takes forever to go through, to name a few. I got there just above lvl 30 on average, and it feels like I'm 10 lvl below what I'd need to beat her, screw that.

Btw, if you picked-up this game thinking that the cute pink hair waifu at the front will probably be your favorite, I'm really sorry, but good luck.
