Good campaign, lots of extra modes for replay value ( score attack campaign missions with lots of extra options to tweak that experience, an in depth survival mode mini game that has co-op multiplayer, A zombie mini story level that is pretty cool, plus an iconic mansion level with easter eggs. ) plus the gameplay is solid and the so are the graphics. Best in the new in the newer trilogy imo.

It is Free and it is a classic. Yet for anyone who has no nostalgia ( did not play this back in the day ) should understand that the combat was never all that great and has aged even worse. Technical marvel for its time but now fairly ugly and rough looking especially by today's standards. As for the RTX, The lighting is impressive for sure but performance will suffer and since the game was never intended ( developed with RTX in mind ) to look this way the lighting can clash at times with the original feeling and atmosphere. Really just a Free tech demo and how can you complain about that ( although being negative seems to be cool thing to be these days unfortunately, So watch everyone ♥♥♥♥♥ anyway. )

+First of all it is free and and has lot of content. Thank you Devs for your hard work
+The sound track is great and the real reason for download

Now with that out of the way unfortunately everything else isnt so great. The writing is awful. It is not funny while trying to emulate what was done in Portal 2 but falls flat. Most the time you wish the butchering of Cave Johnson would just stop as if you have played portal 2 you will know what to do without his help. The voice acting sound nothing like cave ( or Caroline ) and the writing is just cringe worthy most of the time. Its like an awkward person trying too hard to be funny, just uncomfortable to hear.

The test designs are just bad. I dont mind a challenge but these were made without intelligence. ( Im not calling the design unintelligent just that the levels were made just to be hard without visual cues and with trying to hide as much as possible that became more about trial and error than it was about provoking thought and strategies. The tests are neither fun or give a sense of accomplishment. Feels like most of the needlessly hard fan levels made from the editor than professional design

The game has performance issues. I have an i7 processor and GTX 1080. Yet still certain levels I was getting a lot of stutters and dips of fps into the 20's.

I would reccomend Aperture Tag: The Paint Gun Testing Initiative instead. It takes a new approach to the formula and is much better made. Yes it does cost a little money but is totally worth it for Portal fans.

This is a masterpiece 3 ways.

1. the setting. The floating city is without a doubt one of the imaginative places created for a video game the rivals even what they did in the underwater city of Rapture the game before. Even if the game is mostly linear it still feels like your exploring and you will want to search every nook and cranny not just for items and money ( although that is a good idea because lots of collectables , gear , food, health, weapons, vigors, audio logs, and money can be dicovered ) buy alot of details about the world can be found that flesh out the enviroment and its characters. They didnt just make an incredibly imaginative enviroment but created it with love and a ton of detail, and surprising variety.

2. Narrative. Not just the story ark which is amazing, but in its themes and charaters just as much.

3. the Graphics. the charater models and their faces are very well done but that is not what makes the game look amazing, the textures can be really great and poor on a few surface so not that, But the lighting system is imo the best i have ever seem in a game. The way this game uses godray and atmospheric color tones is amazing. Add this lighting with the many, many, many set pieces, statues , and the unique world you have required gaming for any one who likes to take screenshots while playing through games.

This is the Black sheep of the franchise and although it tries to mimmic the Rocksteady games ( Origins was developed by WB Games Montreal ) it does everything wrong. Remember the smooth flowing combat and gameplay, well this game is considerably more clunky in its controls, remember the colorful graphics with loads of detail, well this game is very dull and bland in the color scheme and enviroments are white and grey for the most part and are very low in detail. Remember the constant rollercoaster ride of inspired and varied gameplay elements, well be prepared for far more repeatitive and tedious gameplay and level design this time around. This game has some fun multiplayer, but who cares since the servers are dead. Also the game is incredibly buggy, my last play through crashed while loading which locked up my entire computer, meaning I had to hard reset my computer and my save file is corrupt. ( and this is the final version of the game the bugs will never be fixed ) What is still good is the story and music in the game but since actually playing the game really isnt enjoyable I would watch a playthough or the story movie through youtube instead. I have tried over and over to enjoy this game but it does everything the other games do just worse in every way possible.

A throw back style indie game done well!. I crowdfunded this game on indie gogo awhile back now and was glad I did. This game is a love letter to NES games like the original Castlevania trilogy on the NES back in the late 80s early 90s. Its hard but fair ( practice will be required to get past anything other than the first level most likely ) Gameplay is simple but has a ton of variety with its level design. ( plus its always nice to play a game that doesnt need a long tutorial to play, just get into the game and learn. ) Despite its intentional technological limitation to look like an old game, it has a ton of detail to the enviroments and story scequences using its old graphics techniques to their fullest ( the old NES would of never been able to play this game as it is ). If you have the love for old school game play and old school graphics ( that are very well done ) you should give this game a play imo

Classic and fun action game, yes as many have said this isnt really an RPG, its an action platform game and a good one. ( The genre tag was placed by users not the developer ) Its a solid action game with lots of combat and light platforming.
The combat is loose ( not very precise ) but because hit detection is forgiving it makes combat fast and fun, and there is a good variety of weapons in the game to keep you interested. In fact variety is one of the games strengths, there are several characters you can play in the campaign and you can choose freely before every level which one you want to play and every character specializes in different weapons and attributes so they all are very different to play ( most have exclusive abilities. ) And the most unique part of the game, adding even more variety, is that there is a good and evil campaign and you can choose either one to play, this isnt just a gimmick either both campaigns have there very own story and levels. ( Each side has there own version of each class and character ) Speaking of those levels, level design is excellent. Levels are labrynth style with lots of hidden gold to find and even if they are short they still provide exploration. Also the levels have a good amount going on with lots of scripted enviromental changes ( Such as falling walls and ceilings ) and props ( like shootable cannons ), the geometry is always changing from tight cordoors to wide open enviroments with lots of verticality such as muti-story buildings and archway bridges. Finally the enemy placement is great as well as you will be suprised often by enemies that hide around or rush around corners, down stairways, etc or how archers that nest up in high vantage points or off in the distance. Overall some good engaging level design.
What also must be said is how good the game looks in 1080p concidering it is over 10 years old. Textures look great ( not quite as much if you get really close though ). Art design is amazing, all the architecture and details put into the enviroment surpass alot of games today and it has aged remarkably well, seriously what other game from 2002 looks this good today. The only gripe I have is that character models and animations are old and stiff, but still nothing too terrible.
The game isnt perfect of coarse. A.I. can and will be dumb ( there are times that your enemy will just stand there and take hits especially if there are more than one enemy at a time ). The spending of gold is very strange as it is never actually expended but more a value of how much or with what a character is equiped with before they enter the level. Also the game only saves between levels and there are only a couple of checkpoint in level at most, if you die before you reach a checkpoint you will have to repeat everything you did in that level. The game has some balancing issues such as the sorceress character is overpowered as she is basically a machine gun spellcaster. But still this is a steal for 5$ and especially on sale.

Usually hate card games as they try to be too complicated for their own good, with a bunch of numbers and too many random modifiers that just turn me off. But this game ramps up the complexity slowly and the RPG mixure is done very well as the story, characters, and dialoge are well done without wearing out their welcome ( i.e. you will actually spend more time playing the game instead of reading ). But if you like super complex card games like Magic the gathering you might find this game too simple and on the easy side, so maybe this game isnt for the hardcore. But if you are looking for a game where you play with one hand on mouse the other on a beverage or texting on your phone, this game is great, just relax after work or whatever and enjoy. Reccomended
