Got it - thanks. I will likely pick up Unity of Command at some point, too, then. Damn, the next Steam sales cannot come soon enough! ;)

SC and UoC are both quite similar in terms of complexity and learning curve. They've got a lot of tactical depth, but the busywork and management slog of some really hardcore hex-based wargames has been removed. So both 'middle complexity' wargames. They also play out on a similar scale. The major different is that SC is one single, large campaign, while UoC is a series of scenarios. So SC is like all the various UoC scenarios occurring together. I'm really enjoying SC, so will probably buy the other ones at some point. There is a WWI version that I'm assuming is different again.

Oh, forgot to ask. How does Strategic Command games compare to Unity of Command - especially in terms of the learning curve?

Hmm, I am enthralled with Strategic Command: World at War; so I will likely buy the European version at some point then.

I'm really enjoying it (though it took a little while to get used to the mechanics). I get the feeling it probably is a scaled down version of the entire world one (I've not played that).. but the European Theatre scale certainly works well.

How do you find Strategic Command: Europe? I have the later game that has the entire WWII theater as the scene, and I am wondering I should buy the earlier game. But I am also afraid that I'd be buying the same game - except in a smaller, more particularized scale.
