Very solid game from a two-person development team. Nicely done. It's pretty fun and has a LOT of potential if the developers incorporate some of the great suggestions that are showing up in the discussions. As you play, you do think to yourself how additional features and techs would make the game so much better. But as it stands now, the game is decent and fun to play if you like city builders and strategy games.

Just a few for potential additions:

Additional buildings and techs.
Competing settlements that share the map with you and compete for resources. (man this one would be cool)
Better placement of walls/gates/buildings (more rotation angles, ability to level ground)
Paths/roads that make the walking speed faster.
Better placement/management of crop fields.
More challenging or detailed raids with strategies.
Other challenges, goals to meet other than just raids.
More monuments, decorations, social buildings to customize and make your settlement pretty and personalized.

You really can't go wrong for $20-$25 for this one even if you get 40-50 hours out of it. And from the developer involvement in the forums, it seems like we will continue to see a lot more content added.

Gets very repetitive and boring. Just my opinion, but this game is good for about 10 hours of entertainment tops. Now that I've reached that point, I doubt I'll ever touch it again. I'm not sure what the draw is from all of the folks with recommended reviews.

This is a terrible port. The in-game menus are counter-intuitive. No easy way to change key bindings in-game without going to main menu? I was so frustrated with it after only playing 5 minutes I decided not to play any more. Wow.

Kind of a simple game. I played for 30 minutes and now I'm bored. All you do is lay out track and try to route the trains to the correct stations. Ok if you are bored out of your mind and don't have any yarn for knitting and there are no NASCAR races on TV.

Early Access Review
This game is so much fun to play. My 9 year old daughter and 7 year old son watched me play for 30 minutes over my shoulder and started jumping up and down asking me to buy them copies so that we could all play together in multiplayer. Now it's almost like a ritual for us to turn on the game and go hunting for biters when we get home from school and work.

The game can be so incredibly complex yet is so intuitive. I read another review that likened the game to writing code and I would have to say I agree, except so much more fun! This is a great game to play with friends or your kids in co-op mode. The factory layout possibilities are endless and you can optimize until your heart is content.

It will take you a few hours to figure out what all of the hotkeys are and what all of the machines do, but you will stumble across most of the game on your own and in a enjoyable and natural progression. For everything else, there is a Factorio wiki already in the works with a lot of definitions.

This game definitely has a bright future when it goes gold.
