This game is a time sink. You will spend hours getting a road network in place, to then spend even longer making sure your specific roundabout is exactly symmetrical, to then realise the traffic is going in the complete wrong direction and you're an idiot. I love this game. I swear I only turn it on for 10 minutes - next thing its 5 hours later

The game feels like it is still in Beta, and it needs a few more years development and a lot more story building. The world looks pleasing, and has an interactive feel but the actual bare bones of it is basic at best. Everything is extremely repetitive. And the GUI and pretty shocking!

The gameplay itself has a main story quest, which is nothing more then a basis to get you to travel around and see the map. And a lot of running back and forth, to the same place over and over again. There are side quests, which will be one of three things, loot/gather X items, kill x mobs, read X thing.Once you hand one in, you get another to go back and do the exact same. The monsters you encounter share one of a very few models and apart from a few different animals you will not see anything different in any zone, and even more worrying, the expeditions (dungeons) all share the same character models. There are very few types of fauna, and the more you gather the more it is obvious. Very quickly it becomes apparent that the world feels copy and pasted. Once you are done in one place, you get to go to a new town, and do the exact same over and over again. The same quests, killing and gathering the same things. The interface you interact though is terribly designed and looks awful. It really is basic and has an awful feel, like something out of 1990, for all crafting/inventory management/quest logs/map etc.

The weapons and skills are basic and some have clear advantages over others. Bows and muskets require ammunition where as other ranged items do not, and mana is not really an issue. Hammers appear to be the clear best in PVP, and spears are also overpowered. Before long some weapons will be hardly seen and others will be everywhere. I hate to think how this will affect gameplay in the future. There are only 6 skills per weapon, and remedial mundane other skills such as 5% damage if you have full health, nothing that majorly adds or effects/changes gameplay at all and/or feels fun to interact with.

The group aspect of it is very lacking, there is really no need to group at all apart from dungeons, and there is no ability to share quests between people in a group. Group PVP is actually quite fun though, on the off chance you are lucky enough to find other factions with PVP mode enabled. Not a lot of players do, and it seems odd that there is not a PVP server option where it is on by default.

Queues. 2000 players per server in 2021 on a new MMO is ridiculous. Launch was a trainwreck, and for EU players it has not got better since. New servers created now suffer the same 1000+ player queue's. My first character is on a launch server, which always has a queue. When new servers were created, I picked an empty one and was blessed with the ability to actually play the game for a few days. Now, that server also has a queue pushing 900 as we speak. I am at a loss as to what to do, as I am now character capped and cannot create a new one - unless I move realm, suffer lag and also add to queue's for other players in other regions. Only allowing 2 characters is ridiculous.

Its gone from New world, to Queue World, to Bad Review World. I might pick this back up in a few years, but until then - I won't be playing anymore. Partly due to the fact it will take me over 3 hours to get in! There are too many 'that seems weird, why would they do this' and 'this is annoying', 'same again, really, I've just ****ing been there!'

CS:GO Review
After 1000+ hours, I can honestly say don't bother. This is an average at best game wrapped in skins designed to make you spend loads of money. There are much better shooters out there. Generally, at most levels the community's pretty toxic, it gets better the higher rank you get but it can be a struggle to get out of the lower ranks due to teammate trolling or incompetence. It is also full of hackers, at pretty much all rank levels, which can also make it a struggle to get a higher rank.

The game also works against you in this regard, if you have griefers or hackers on your team. Often, you cannot vote them off due to the kick system requiring the whole team to vote, which leaves you with two choices: leave, or continue. Leaving at a minimum will give you a half an hour 'cooldown', and probably de-rank you. Continuing will no doubt cause you to lose the game and probably a few brain cells too, and also probably de-rank you.

To ban hackers and griefers, you must report them to the community overwatch, which is ran by players. Often, the players 'overwatching' are hackers themselves, so nothing comes of it. If by some miracle it isn't, then the person needs enough overwatchers to make the ban possible. At which point a new steam account is created and the free game is downloaded again. Yay. Thanks. No real anti-cheat detection, they just care about pumping out skins for cash. And most of the skins look ♥♥♥♥♥, lets be honest.

If you have a team of 5, then you will probably have a good experience (unless the opposition are using any of the multitude of free or paid for hacks for this game).

You can sneak on someone's ship, watch them spend hours getting loot and completing quests and at the last minute pop up and sink them and take everything. 10/10
