Look, just take a game you really like, and what feelings it causes. This game has those feeling too.
Ex: It gives you the same feelings as playing Portal for the first time.
Gameplay-wise, it's simultaneously exactly like and nothing like Risk of Rain 2. You'll like it.

Go listen to the trailer as loud as you can. If you think that sounds up your alley, get your toaster out for a night of fun. Playing on normal is nice and easy but still rewarding to try to get perfect scores on the missions. Having not been thrilled with the tech priests of Mars in the past, this really helped me see the appeal of this faction.

Excellent setting, excellent characters, excellent gameplay. Great use of a shiny new graphics card. Just bring some snacks for the loading screens.
