The Witcher 2 is one of the best fantasy epics I've played for a while. Dark writing that will compel you to push forth and delve into the story; going so far as to consume your days! And then, in the final moments of the game, the narrative will have you begging for more, making you wish the game was longer--or that Witcher 3 would come sooner! (P.S. The game is over 20 hours long, yet I wanted more. Yes, the story is that gripping) The game also treats you with some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ maturity, CDProjekt Red doesn't ♥♥♥♥♥ out here, the game contains a lot of sex--and it's magnificent; especially when other game developers don't have the balls to go there, or when they do, they often don't have the balls to see it through to the end.
Sufficed to say, all those who haven't played the previous game (of which I am one) will, at-first, find themselves lost. The game will try to get you up to speed, however you'll feel very lost at the beginning of the game. But soon you'll be caught up in a web of conspiricy and intrigue that, when the jarring moments of exposition pretaining to the first game come, it will do little to sour your mood, and soon, you'll be back into the fray of the story.
Also, choices, choices that bloody matter! Do you know how refreshing that is? Yes? Then jump on in!

The gameplay is burtal and unforgiving if you are unready--plus the saving system isn't very... lenient with you. So if you screw up and you haven't saved, oh boy you're in hot water! Enemies will challenge you, hoards of them can be just as effective as a boss. Which, to mention the bosses, yeah, they're hard too! Especially the last. However, I'm just speaking from my own experience here, it will greatly vary by user ability and game difficulty. (I can imagine that, after playing this bloody romp on normal and dying a couple of times, that on hard it's a bloody nightmare.)

The presentation of the game isn't too shabby either, bearing in mind it's been 2 years from release, it couldn't look any better; sure in some areas texture can appear flat or certain other graphical annoyances may appear, however it will do little to deter you from playing! Character models are detailed to the level that you would expect. Glitches are minimal--although some may make themselves apparent. The game has a highly fine level of polish that will be apparent as you play through the wonderful game; the craftmanship that has gone into this game is insane, CDProjektRed are masters of making video games, so you're in safe hands.

Convinced yet? I should bloody hope so. If this game is on sale and you're reading this, I can only ask why? Why are you wasting you time? This is such a great game that any [reasonable] cost is well worth it! Especially on your nice fancy PC rig. So, stop reading and add this game to your collection now! You won't regret a single moment, a single dime, that you'll have poured into this game.
