Amazing gameplay and an even better soundtrack. Simple to pick up, difficult to master. If you enjoy this one, check out Mr. Shifty too for some similar top-down gameplay.

Bit overrated but a good time. I will disagree with the Steam Deck verified status. I did play the whole thing on deck but it made some sections a chore that would have been easy with a mouse, and I had to rebind some controls to get it where I wanted it.

10/10. I don't like invincible stalker mechanics and I hated the Mr. X sequences, but even that wasn't enough to take a point away from this masterpiece. Scary atmosphere, fun combat, good level design. Who would actually design a building like that? I don't know, but it's perfect for horror.

What's better, the writing or the puzzles? Yes.

I've beaten this game in co-op with four different people across multiple platforms. The gameplay is simple enough that literally anyone can play, gamer or not, and the strategy is deep and addictive enough to draw them in. My favorite tower defense game of all time.

Doesn't hold a candle to the original. I wish they hadn't, y'know, completely changed the style of the game. I completed the first PixelJunk Monsters game in co-op with 4 different people, that's how good it was. Didn't make it anywhere with this.

I had so much fun with this game. I played it shortly after playing Hotline Miami for the first time, and I preferred Mr. Shifty, although they're both excellent games. Hotline has the better soundtrack, but the gameplay in Shifty is tighter and more varied, with less unfair situations like getting shot by someone offscreen in Hotline.

Comfy metroidvania with an endearing aesthetic that occasionally borders on fanservicey. Platforming, combat, and puzzles are all good, with fun new powers and classic metroid style-backtracking to use them. If you like the genre, you'll like it.

Gorgeous art, talented voice actors, and an enthralling plot with many branches. It's about time I played it again.
