The gameplay in this game is top notch. I enjoyed the level designs and the fighting system. It's the only thing that kept me going.

The story was miserable. I refer to this game as Dragon Age: The Cutscene. So many movies. So much dialogue that could happen while playing the game. It was miserable. I found myself just skipping the story for the last ten hours and just trying to finish the game because of the time commitment.

It was really a sunk cost fallacy. I should've just given up.

In the end, this is probably the least enjoyable 59 hours of gaming I have played. I don't think I found a single character -- including the main protagonist -- enjoyable. Everyone was annoying. It was like, "Hey, let's view everyone as their flaws and only their flaws."

Again, I actually loved the gameplay. I just wished it was packaged in a different game.

-- Spoiler --

There was this whole quest of dealing with my sorrow. I had no sorrow. I was glad to choose the character who died and wished I could've chosen more of them to die.

Starfield is like a love child between all the good things of Mass Effect, Fallout 4, Cyberpunk, and No Man's Sky.

So many years just making a game.

And the UI people come along.

A great game is still there.

I held off on buying this until the Steam Summer Sale this year.

And wow. It's exactly what I've been wanting in an rpg for a while. After the first phase of the game, you go out and do quests to improve your kingdom. I love it. It's in the vein of Pillars of Eternity or Tyranny but I find it to be better.

As someone who is not a fan of FPS, this is purely a FPS. All the hype got me to buy it, but it is purely a FPS. If you like games like Half-Life, you will love this. If those games aren't your cup of tea, then stay away. This is purely a good version of that style of game.

This is not a manager game in any sense of the idea that you carry with that word and games. This is just a casual, indie rpg where you assemble a party and go fight. If you try to play it as a manager and have your adventurers fight without you, you are punished.

I just finished the game. So this review is with that in mind.

This is a difficult game. Lots of quicksaving and dying. But the story, and the choices you make, really feel like they matter. They did an excellent job at creating a world that changes based on the decisions that you make. It seems like many game makers make worlds that are stale and don't change at all, as if single player games have the limitations of MMOs. But that wasn't the case here.

It's more of an old school rpg. It definitely doesn't hold your hand. It seems a little overly difficult at times. But in the end, if you stick with it, it becomes a very rewarding game.

It's hard. It's old school. Terrible UI. But, for me, it brings back memories of my childhood. I've always felt that as games got better graphics, they got dumbed down. This game is not dumbed down. And it's not the realization of a game that is complicated with better graphics. But I will take the difficult game that isn't twitched based over graphics any day. Five hours in and still enjoying it.

I like the art. From the little bit that I saw, I like the story. It looks like I would like the gameplay. I just don't like the character I have to play. First, he goes into a strip club. Then he smokes in the building. And he calls someone to be rude. At that point, I just decided to get a refund.

I have played more solo hours in this than I have in any other single player game, including No Man's Sky.
