A pretty fun aquatic survival game with what I would consider decent development progress. Some preformance issuses remain such as serious chugging when entering a new zone. Wheather on sale or for full price this game is worth the cash. I look forward to playing it when it's 100% done.

Game is still chugging for me but much less noticable than it was at the time of writing this review. It is still a enjoyable game with what I would consider sufficiant enough content to consider this a full game. It makes me happy to be able to write a review for a EA game that is leaving EA and didn't wreck itself along the way.

A streamlined version of HoI 3 with a great battle plan system, are there are few issuses with AI yeah and still a few small issuse with the UI yeah. But I'm certian that they will be fixed in the comming patches just like they are fixed in all their other games.

A great game with very engaging lore. Combat is fun and enjoyable. The story line is also one of the better one in most recent RPGs. I only really problem I have with this game is that it is some what limited in a way beacuse of the fact that the lore and story is based off a book and the fact that the character that you play as in not one of your own making. So characters within the game that my character has history and connections to I as a player have no interest or connection to those characters, which is somewhat of a problem as the story and some of the dialogue seems like it wants you to go with option A when I as a player don't care about option A I like option B. But this is a minor issue and can be looked past. All in all if you like RPGs and you like fantasy lore/stories like dragon age then you will enjoy this game.

Was at first fun but along with the terrible business model that they have chosen the game much like all the other zombie survival games became overly complex becuase it's easier to just pile on new stuff instead of making the existing content better or more enjoyable. Don't buy this game.

Game used to be good but now it's totally pay to win in my opinion

One of the few examples of how early acess can be used correctly... To my knowledge this is the only early access game that has left early access, now I could be wrong on that but see the great thing is the devs didn't mess it up unlike a certin other game... cough cough dayz... But nevertheless this is a great game hours of fun $30 is a decent price but if you feel that a bit much for sure get it on sale for $20 will be well worth your cash!

This game is my biggest disappointment out of any game that I have ever bought. I was a huge supporter of the mod and had easy over 1000+ hours in the mod. This game has ♥♥♥♥♥♥ worse and worse since it came out because of the adding of useless items and features that are almost impossible to us as finding the required items are basically random. Zombies still run threw buildings and from across towns to agro on you. There are Arma 3 "DayZ" mods that are further along and play better than this game does, mainly breaking point, Epoch and a few others. I would not recommend you buy this game but instead buy Arma 3 and use the Mods on there. If you are truely heart set on this game I would implore you to wait untill the game is comeplete and get it then... if that ever happens that is.

In short buy Arma 3 the Mods on there are more complete than this game.

***0.60 UPDATE***
The playablity of the game has increased as I finally get a somewhat decent frame rate 45fps(in large cities)- 80fps(wilderness) with mid to high settings my system specs will be posted at the bottom.
After about 1 1/2 hours of gameplay loot is extremely sparce even on a very low pop server just after restart.
The hunger thrist system is just as broken as ever. You spawn into the server hungery and need to find food pretty quickly. I almost starved even tho I did find a few cans of food but had no way to open them, found a can opener just before I starved to death. And even after stuffing my face with 3 cans of food and 2 sodas i was hungry and thristy again within 5 mins which is ridiculous.
About 80% of the loot I found was clothes. About 8% Random industrial stuff. 6% food. 4%medical supplies. 1.9% weapons. 0.1%ammo, in 1 1/2 hours of playing on a low pop fresh restart server I found 1 pile of ammo and for neither of the 2 weapons I had.
Zombies are finally functional and don't agro super easy like they used too, but now take many melee strikes to kill in which time they beat the ♥♥♥♥ out of you. Number of zombies is still extremely low.
In short you can now play the game with a decent frame rate, but the loot system is still crap in my opinion. I would still recommend getting Arma 3 and playing mods off of there like exile or breaking point.

5 Years Later, we are on final release, the game runs well, but that's it 30 min on a official server found nothing but clothes, ok moving to modded, 30 min found like 6 guns and no ammo, eat my starting food and find some drink down the drink keep moving to south air field, finally find ammo after almost a hour oh cool now im starving, found food oh wait I can't open it dead from starvation after like 45 with eating the starting food. Don't waste your time or money I'd still rather play Arma 2 Dayz mod than this garbage, and there are plenty of Arma 3 Dayz mods as well. This will likely be the last time I ever boot up this game, truly sad.

I truely enjoy the darkness series. The story is one of my personal favorites and is in my opinion the true highlight of the game along with it's fast paced action pacted gore filled combat. I'd recommend this game for at most $25 so I'd wait for a small sale. If I had any Cons to this game it would be that it is somewhat short and the weapon varity is not the best but the Darkness does make up for that.
