Quickly became my go-to decompression game!
Nice community, robust crafting, decorating and mini-games, all with NPC stories and lore that doesn't shy away from coping with and overcoming some real difficulties in life we can all relate to.

Edit 07/08/2024: After giving the former CEO-now-CD Johan Pilestedt the chance to right his ship, Arrowhead once again put out an update that antagonises players, nerfs the fun and caters to some weirdo at their company that wants their game to be as abrasive as sandpaper to play.

I can no longer in good conscience support, condone or recommend this game.
If Arrowhead reads this, FIRE WHOEVER IS IN CHARGE OF THOSE DECISIONS ASAP.

Due to technical issues at the launch of HELLDIVERS™ 2, we looked past the linking requirements for Steam accounts to a PlayStation Network account. That grace period will now expire. See details below in this post.

Keeping accounts separated plays a critical role in protecting our personal data and upholding the values of safety and security provided on the internet and society at large. This is our main way to protect ourselves from exploitation and identity theft by enabling the control and compartmentalisation of information within different access levels. It also allows those affected to have legal rights under GDPR to identify who holds information on them and demand this be erased.

As such, as of May 6th, all new HELLDIVERS 2 activity on my Steam will be required to allow anyone with their Steam account or their PlayStation Network account to continue to enjoy the game without the need to link the two. Current SONY and Arrowhead employees will begin to see negative reviews from May 5th and will be required to reverse their decision of a linked Steam and PlayStation Network account immediately. Our information does not come free and below is a list of reasons SONY does not have our trust to handle our data.

Baldur’s Gate 3 consumed my life in a way few games did. Whenever I’m not playing, I’m thinking of playing. Whenever I’m resting I am contemplating how best to optimise my ability to overcome the next challenge.

After the initial learning curve, the player is treated to a very compelling gameplay loop that rewards creativity, iteration and exploration of a world and characters rich in a kind of depth you simply don't get in modern gaming.

If you're looking for a game to help you escape the repetitive disappointments and little tragedies of everyday life, this ain't it. Every hour, you're treated to yet more disappointing options from the Armory. Every week, you do more contracts to be awarded with yet more disappointing items from the Requisitorium.

And every day, you think to yourself: Is this all there is to Darktide?
Fatshark have nailed the grimdark aesthetic on every level, the ambience, the technical issues that deprive you of your hard-won rewards as dark gods gleefully laugh at your feeble attempts at progression towards hollow rewards, in service of a hollow ideal, more and more of your comrades depart in the same disappointment you feel is weighing upon you heavier by the day.

But the Emperor protects. And so must we.

If you're looking for a game you can just as easily play solo, drop-in or with your crew, you'll find a LOT of value here.

Devs have great humour, game's full of pop culture references and is a tongue-and-cheek take on an otherwise super serious genre of looty-shooty. Everything's just better when you're a dwarf, mining with your friends.
