Overall a disappointment. DDS1 was janky yet charming. The gameplay loop was simple yet addicting.

DDS2 removed all the mechanics that made DDS1 so fun and all were are left with is a map that is bland and uninspiring. None of the map feels right, bus stops in random locations and they don't actually help with movement. Speaking of movement, get ready for walking simulator. Turns out a large map just means lots of running and nothing else. Drug running doesn't feel the same, you can't mix until mid game (I guess, I never made it there), making the drugs is boring, the police are somehow worse and don't even get me started on the melee combat. Why even add this mechanic? Literally adds nothing to the game and when you do interact with it, you get punished. Even if there was a good use behind it, its so bad that not having it would actually make the game better.

To be honest, DDS1 wasn't perfect at the start but the first time I played it I was so gripped that eventually all the odds and ends ended up being weirdly charming. I gave this an initial shot but was so uninterested that I went to bed instead. The next day, I thought maybe I'll give it a second chance and I don't think I will be giving it a third anytime soon.

Early Access Review
It's rare to see such a polished early access game. There are a ton of cards, a ton of roguelike features, a ton of characters, a ton of events and so far, the balance feels quite nice.

It's hard to believe that this game is even considered early access.

Here is my livestream of me playing the game for the first time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vj2q-T0k5tk&feature=youtu.be

Quirky, fun and has the replayable nailed down. I'd give this game a solid thumbs up. I didn't encounter any crazy bugs playing through, the art style is quite different and has a ton of character and the game is jam packed with references across the board.

I think with some quality of life updates and a little more polish on the edges, you've got another amazing addition to the rougelite, deckbuilding genre.

It's rare for me to come across a game that strikes such a good balance between difficulty and the want to win. Dark Souls and Sekiro have this and somehow this game has it too! Winning feels good, in a way I didn't expect. I am constantly struck by wanting to play one more run. At this point, I've hardly made it through corruption 5 but the strategy and adaptability required feels immense.

If you have any inkling of wanting to play an auto battler, I highly recommend this.

Active Dev team that has already implemented some great quality of life changes. Otherwise from that, if you like roguelites and games like TFT or Autochess, this game is a blast!

I have never heard of the anime Captain Tsubana. I really wasn't sure what I was expecting but I've been pleasantly surprised.

I want more single player things. I want more leagues, for both the story and custom player. I'd love to see more of Tsubana's journey in this same format. I'd love to be able to build a custom team from scratch instead of one character at a time and watch them grow.

Combines all the things I love: Total war and the Three Kindoms. I must say mods are a must.

For once, the GemCraft series requires actual strategy and for thought. It's an amazing tower defense. Instead of getting over leveled and stomping the levels, you must attempt various strategies to some levels.
