It's come a long way in terms of development. Hopefully the devs continue to support the game and encourage the modding scene which can keep the game active for a long time. Not many games come close to fostering the type of community Squad has, save long forgotten and inactive games :( Teamwork and communication is involved that is rivaled by very few games and that has made all the lads I meet in game all the more special. Good game

A wonderful game that has an amazing soundtrack with some feels being felt. Without spoiling much, all I can say is to try and do most of the sidequests. There are a few that you can skip and you should know which ones aren't really story related when you get to them. They really help flesh out the story, but otherwise do not stop playing untill you get ending E

Short but awesome game that really, really challenged me, especially all the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ bullet hell portions... You just gottta stick with it and git gud and there's even a pretty decent story. But I am ultimately recommending this game for the soundtrack... it is absolutely amazing...

Very good game that is elevated to amazing with mods. I personally recommend the Stainless Steel mod. Also it easily has the best soundtrack out of all of the Total Wars to date. Despite kinda oldish visuals, it is one Creative Assemby's best. I hope future Total Wars increase the viability to mod their games like this one and Rome: Total War

And I have to link the entire ♥♥♥♥♥♥ soundtrack because there are so many good songs in there I dont know which ones to pick out.

Ohh man, what can I say about this game... Don't be fooled by my "low" play time. I probably have close to 500 hours in Mount and Blade Warband since the game itself doesnt rely on the Steam DRM and you can launch the game without Steam. I remember saying to myself why so many medieval games have magic in them and how cool it would be to have a game that tried to be a bit more historical with its medievalness and even let you screw around as a peasant or farmer and just be more grounded in reality and I searched through forums and someone wrote that a game like that exists and is called Mount and Blade: Warband. I looked at trailers and gameplay and thought to myself, "This game looks like garbo, its looks so damn old and dated." But I saw it had a crap ton of positive reviews and I ended up grabbing it during a sale with an attitude of, "Meh it aint costing me much even if it is garbo." Man, do I regret getting it in a sale. Yes, the visuals are absolutely dated and the tutorial to be honest is hella lacking and the game doesnt even fully explain the mechanics of what you are supposed to do and what you can do at all. It just thrusts you into the game, which is a sandbox-style game and you either sink or swim and I imagine some people just put in a few hours and get bored and wondered what the hell they are supposed to do and stopped playing. But if you are curious and inquisitive and stick with the game, you'll realize how absolutely deep the game can get. Basically, you need to make yourself emperor (or empress) of Calradia... or not, you can just be a trader making money or just kill off bandits harassing peasants without pledging allegiance to any of the factions present, or you can be a bandit yourself. There is legit soo much to this game that you can do and its depth runs so deep, that I would have to legit write an essay on how this game is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥ great and all the mechanics in it but I dont like making long ass reviews. And thats just the vanilla game... With modding the game really shines and theres even a mod that puts MnB:W in feudal Japan, let alone the DLC like Napoleonic Wars. All I can say is if you like historical games, you'll absolutely love Warband, and its eventual sequel Bannerlord is currently my most anticpated game.
P.S. I personally recommend the Floris Mod, its pretty good : )

Very good game. Can be hard to get into. I remember my first 50 hours or so I spent being a noob getting killed over and over again, but if you stick with it and learn to play, you'll find a game unrivaled in its depiction of the brutality of war and somehow making it enjoyable... if you're a sick SOB like myself and others that love this game ; )
Oh and it has a pretty enjoyable soundtrack too
