TL;DR: I paid $1.44 for this game in a bundle and still feel ripped off.

The Good:
Before I go on a rant about why I hate this game, I want to mention that the music, art style, and even story are all great and are probably the only reason why I wanted to keep playing. I especially loved the design of the bosses, even if I hate some of the actual fights.

The Bad:
The gameplay is lackluster, unoriginal, and tedious. Attacks consist of hitting the attack button... and parrying. Most skills or prayers or basic abilities have no real depth to them. And speaking of parrying... in most cases, a successful parry will cause you to slide backward, which means you cannot follow up with a good riposte. In extremely annoying cases, you can slide into another room which resets the enemy's health bar.

The Really Bad:
Level design. I don't know where to begin with this one. The whole map is a big square, and somehow, it is super hard to navigate and very annoying to figure out where to go. Oftentimes, I would be wandering around a big loop only to realize there was a hidden wall right next to me, which didn't lead to a bonus area but was part of the actual game. This game suffers from an identity crisis where sometimes it tries to be soul-like (enemies have increased health and damage), sometimes it tries to be a Metroidvania (looping passages and interconnected areas), and sometimes it is a platformer (the controls do not support this). This game never figures out what it wants to be, and as a result, every category suffers.

The Buggy
Speaking of platformers... I am baffled by the decision to include platforming in this game. Mainly because the platforming requires hairpin reactions, and even then, it comes down to getting lucky with the right slide, jump, and attack button. For example, to double jump in a DLC area, you have to slide, jump, attack, and keep holding the slide button while angling the joystick and sometimes you will still hit the "death zone" of spikes despite not touching anything.

Final Thoughts:
I am usually a massive fan of souls-like, platformers and even metroidvanias. But I can't stand this game. Quests are uninteresting, boss fights (while beautifully designed) have repetitive mechanics, and even the rewards and customization feature is pointless because only a handful of upgrades are worth getting and using. At best, some of the items can be used situationally. While I love Team 17 games, I hate Blasphemous. 2/10

For a game that is called Silent Assassin they sure didn't design the levels that way. In most cases you can either suffer through hours of trying to get SA ranking or you have to murder quite a few people. Saves are a nice touch but overall this game is very difficult to achieve SA on all levels and in same cases it is downright impossible. Quite a few levels also feature crazy bugs and an AI that is either incredibly dumb or has a Final Destination level of awareness. All the guards will instantly rush to your location even if they were on the other side of the map. This game greatly improves on certain aspects of game play but also makes some confusing choices like some levels are very short, but difficult linear levels with nothing to do (Japan) or extremely long levels that feel like they need to be split up.

With the exceptions of 2 levels this game is really enjoyable. Even better if bought in a bundle package on deep sale. The worst thing about this game are the controls. It took me around an hour to rebind everything but afterwards the game played very smoothly.

I'm so happy that this game is still getting updates from the devs. I do wish that there were more roles like the Town of Imposters mod for this game but hopefully that will be in a future update!

TLDR: Great game that is ruined by buggy platforming and repetitive enemy encounters 7/10

The Good:
-Beautiful graphics
-Understandable story (no need to watch hours of lore videos to understand)
-Fluid combat
-Stealth
-Items are actually useful (no more picking up junk weapons/worthless consumables)
-Sense of mastery while defeating bosses and mini-bosses
-Choosing skills that have a real impact on gameplay

The Bad
-Fighting the same mini-bosses with little variety
-Boss encounters are often held within in the same area as previous arenas
-Money becomes obsolete in NG+
-Some achievements require hefty farming

The Glitchy
-Buggy grappling
-Random framerate drops even with low settings in certain areas
-Enemy AI ranges from hyper-agro to backing away for no reason

The "DLC"
-While I love Sekiro, I hate the new Boss Rush mode. The final boss on each of these encounters has been upgraded to make them even harder (as if fighting 5 FromSoft bosses in a row wasn't hard enough). The skins are a neat addition but unlocking them isn't worth it due to the sheer obnoxiousness of the boss rush. Boss Rush mode also makes the lock on and camera issues even more noticable. I would have rather had a new optional boss then this update.

Other Thoughts:
A solid game that will take around 40 hours for one playthrough and achievements will require either a hefty amount of farming to complete or will require a playthrough of NG+4 to get enough experience. Boss designs are well done although fighting several bosses in the same arena feels lazy and can cheapen the experience. This is a game worth picking up on sale. 7/10

Every Darksiders game is different than it's predecessor. This game is no different. It focuses more on combat than the others making enemy types harder and less frequent. Does this make it a "Dark Souls Copy?" No. Not every game that has a combat mechanic is a DS ripoff. This game is beautiful if you have a good computer for processing it. Many people also complain about Fury becoming "soft or a baby." Fury may be the first Nephilim that isn't a static character. She changes her opinion of people and starts to empathize with others. That doesn't make her weak that makes her realistic. What else can I say about the game? The voice acting is amazing and I will never get tired of Phil LaMarr saying: What would you ask of this humble merchant? The story also connects very well with the first two games. If you appreciate the lore than this game fits nicely into the Darksiders universe. The developers are also still coming out with new fixes for bugs and more content will be added (DLC's aren't out at time of writing). If you are a fan of the Darksiders series you will not be disappointed. (Unless you miss really difficult puzzles then maybe.) Eventually you will find yourself playing through the game again and again trying to try to beat it with different combinations. All in all I would recommend this game at the full price and 100% at a sale price. The new DLCs are more evidence that this game is truly great
