Game just came out. It's sitting on 37% due to performance issues.
If you have modern hardware it should be fine. I can run with minor hiccups. (i5 + rtx 3070)
That said, there's 42k people playing through steam and less than 2k reviews.
Another case of vocal minority, in case the negative reviews might have persuaded you to otherwise avoid this game.

updated review: after ~13 hours of gameplay, only 1 real complaint - it takes ~3 seconds to pick up souls after death.

updated review after update: "Updated the "Retrieve Vigor" animation to be faster, interruptible more quickly, and added invincibility frames (iframes) until the Vigor is retrieved." There's the fix. Time to see how much of a difference it makes. :D, Events are nice.
