the combat is just like Skyrim, only on huge battlefields and its fast and brutal, you recruit as peasants your army and watch them grow to elite warriors, you can hire other heroes/commanders which you can swap to before battles, get involved with politics, own towns and castles, lay sieges and defend against them and its moddable. theres some great mods for it too. just all round a fantastic game. i cannot wait till M&B 2:bannerlord comes out.

This game deserves the recommendation slot on my profile, its made by one guy, its moddable. its cheap. and even though its still in alpha i played 55 hours in the first 4 days i bought it. (first day it hit store page) and the only reason i stopped playing it was i didnt want my squads to be level 100 or something before the rest of the map and all the other options were there. soon as its in beta or near full release i will hit this with many an hour of happy gaming.

So...I got back into it, and wow, if there is one game out of the many i bought in early access im glad that i didn't get ripped off from and it getting abandoned, its this. ITS SO GOOD. It ticks most of the boxes in what i am looking for in a game.
