The game is a mixture of Anno, Civilisation and Total War though, the battles are automated unlike Total War. The game is very hard. I have been eliminated twice after only two ages advanced. Neither Spain nor Belgium survived into the early middle ages. I can build the largest city in the game even whilst behind everyone else but prestige gain is another matter entirely. The scope of the game is vast and I prefer this game to civilisation. I have barely touched the surface right now but I am keen to learn how to be a powerhouse. I did not realise we could be eliminated simply by lack of technological/prestige advancement which isn't an issue overall. The game is very beautiful and the game is going to be backed by Oxide into the future. This game is more like a mountain than a country walk. Having died twice in two games on easiest level makes me very happy to have the hardest levels which should actually be a very tough challenge. Overall 10/10 so far.

Keeps crashing all the time and reduces my ELO.

Boring combat, predicatable AI, no 1 on 1 animations except repetitive duels, no blood and gore dlc yet, arrows do too much damage, towers have too much range, ambushes are still lacklustre events.

Looks childish in places. Some generals look 12 like lu bu.

Also, we have strategists who can actuate fire arrows but fire arrows exintguish when fired from a bow, further more flame arrows weren't used in open combat and only used in sieges when directed efforts could be brought to bear. Hot coal arrows were also used in ship battles but this game doesn't even have ship battles. In this time period China used River Castles - Not a single River Castle is in this rendition.

The further we go down this CA historical route the less historical we get. I mean any strategist would know fire arrows DO NOT WORK, yet here yet again, we see the over effectiveness of archers not least fire arrows which do even more damage than regular arrows. What a joke.

I could rant more about this strategy game but i've wasted enough time on it.
