FreeJam wanted to increase TTK because RC was becoming CoD sniping. They did this by doubling the damage of all weapons while leaving armour and shields unchanged.
FreeJam removed all tiers so you'll have to carry the newest players.
FreeJam restricted the new-player-friendly game modes by only offering them to experienced players. Now you'll have to carry more.
FreeJam wanted to quickly remove all tiers some months ago but received great criticism for it. Now they're doing it gradually without anyone noticing.

SMGs are also better at PP damage than plasma; if a plane is in the sky for just long enough to drop plasma then you'll do twice that damage to him (in that same time) just by tapping your SMGs on him.

As of the end of September, 2015, FJ have introduced a new, infuriating bug: During gameplay, at random times, all controls stop working. You can't do anything aside from CTRL+SHIFT+ESC/ALT+F4 to quit.

Summary: FreeJam have abandoned their initial goals with RC and have now gone full-blown money-obsessed. They're spamming the updates that they can brag about but they aren't fixing any of the game-breaking bugs.
