Spent 20 mins Alt F4ing the game because at no point did the devs think to put a "cancel" button on ANY of thier infinite loading screens. all this just to load into the game because if your load screen goes on for more then say 5 mins you may as well alt F4 because it will never load you in.

so after this 20-30 mins of booting up the game what amazing content can you enjoy? well theres a highly detailed box that states "you have been disconnected from the Xenoverse!" that you are gonna see a hell of a lot of. it can and WILL pop up at any time for any reason. if you get it mid-quest then LOL sucks to be you because any items you may have got dissapear. combo that with the endless grind-fest that is this game and you can imagine the eye-gouging chore it is to get anything done.

this game is basically a dumbed-down tenkaichi (no fusions, less characters, only sayains can transform) with every bad aspect of any blizzard game you care to mention. if you like farming for years and years because only certain super-rare items are viable in PVP then this game is for you! if you LOVE the release-diablo-3 servers then rejoice because these servers are, if anything, WORSE.

theres even a seperate server to connect to just to recieve in-game mail. to put it into perspective im currently "connecting to that" and have been for about the past 15 mins. all this just because i would rather be sent an item from a friend (who has like 5 of them because he got them farming all day to unlock SSJ transformation) then spend the rest of this week intermittently spending 5 min peroids of gameplay in between 20 min blocks of connection issues just to farm an item so that the AI having infinite stam and KI dosent just grind my HP, or that of my hugely worse AI compainions (who are basically suicide bots you spend half the game protecting) down to nothing by spamming thier AoE defense move that makes them invincible (balanced in PVP due to its stamina costs).

ALL of the difficulty in this game is purely artificial. the AI bosses are either easily crushable, or stacked to outgear you in both levels, damage AND the fact they have intermittent "super armor" that lets them tank. combine this with the fact 50+% of this game is escort quests for woefully inept AI that the enemy AI will just spam ultimate to death while tanking and your ONLY available tactic is to grind lesser quests to outgear the game.

for example, on a certain quest you have to protect, say, vegeta, while you both fight freiza. vegeta cannot die or you lose. simple right? well not if the enemy AI one-shots vegeta, vegeta WONT dodge or block, and the enemy will just become a tank so you cannot stun them and launch deathballs at vegeta. the tactic to beat this? be so over-leveled that the AI (who scales with your level) cannot die. that or repeat the fight ad infinatum until you get lucky and the AI decides not to do it..

i bought this game based mostly off the positive reviews. i will never again trust the reviews on any anime-based game. i knew people overlook it because "muh anime" "much childhood memories, such wow". the nostalgia goggles are strong in the gaming community and i have learned this a lot with the earlier broken DBZ games and the terrible balancing of the Naruto series. but THIS is the game that has killed my faith in anime games. this game is basically early-access. its the early access version of its sequal and they have sold it to me for £40.00. i wouldnt even consider this game past alpha.

wait at LEAST 3 months for them to replace the servers to ones that actually function, or just play budokai as one of the saiyans and spam deathballs at stuff. same experience.
