Early Access Review
so.... I wont lie. I had fun with this game with a buddy of mine. But this game is farrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr from a high quality survival game. I have thousands of hours spent in many different survival games and this one is easily on the bottom of my list. im 30 hours in and have basically done everything there is to do. There are so many quality of life features that are not in the game. its loaded with bugs and gets repetitive quickly. I bought the game for 20$. Id say its worth 10$ if youre looking for a mindless adventure. Im not trying to bash the game too hard, but it needs a lot of work for it to be up to par with todays survival games. (which is already a very low bar to meet)

Im gonna be honest, this is my first of the series, The game IS fun. I enjoy mostly everything about it conceptually. But as an avid RTS player, casually and competitively, the AI needs a lot of work. Im constantly finding my armies completely splitting in 2 and sometimes even 3 different directions when i tell them to go somewhere. And no it isnt a distance thing because the half that splits is usually going a longer direction. The "attack" command doesnt always work when i send them "attacking" in the distance. Like theres times where ive caught them getting destroyed because instead of attacking theyre just walking by enemies. The AI prioritizing certain targets is a downfall as well. It means well and probably helps new RTS players on low difficulties, but there are so many times when my back line thinks its smart to prioritize the enemy back line even if that consists of walking PASSED the enemy front line getting shredded in the process. There are times where i tell my entire army to attack one target and half of them decide to... not listen? This could be a hunger thing idk. Thats another topic of mine that i PERSONALLY dont enjoy. having to constantly micro manage army units to stay in the underground to either stick around to eat food, or do personal jobs. Im not a fan of that aspect. Building traps and doors feels like a complete chore to do because it takes so much time for orcs and goblins to carry toolboxes to each thing. Putting so many resources into demons feels pointless when goblin/orc/naga/imp armies are more than capable to do literally everything.

So all in all, its definitely a fun CASUAL game. But coming from games like Starcraft 2, it feels like its lacking in certain areas. Yes i know this isnt a competitive game, but i shouldnt be getting annoyed at my own army when trying to kill things
