Cannot recommend this game enough. All the reviews and scores are extremely well earned. The demo sucked me in for near on 15 hours alone. I was literally refreshing the steam store page waiting for the minute the game released so I could buy it.

Extremely deep yet simple gameplay with hundreds of possibilities depending on the cards you get, jokers you find, and a myriad of other goodies that give this game endless replay value. I haven't enjoyed a game this much in a long, long while.

Early Access Review
Another time that I wish Steam had a 'neutral' or 'maybe' recommend option. The game is fun, especially if you enjoy things like Minecraft. You can build a wide array of structures to your heart's content should you please. Combat is pretty dull (at least as far as I got into the game). The environments are nice to look at, the music pleasant if a bit repetitive. Controls are admittedly clunky, especially with a controller (for me, anyway). Be prepared to utilize a guide or do some googling to help you out with various mechanics and explaining various stats...there isn't much of a tutorial.

I know a lot of that sounded negative, but the game is unfinished and shows a lot of potential. The hype got a bit overblown a while back and after a flurry of activity from the devs, new content has slowed to a crawl. I feel once they are able to start consistently adding new content once more this will be a great game.

Thus my wish for a 'maybe' recommendation. There's a fair bit to do in the game, but it could have so much more. If you feel like taking a chance on it, it may be worth your money if this is the type of game you like. If you're not sure due to the lack of content and slow updates, I'd say hold of to see what happens.

Early Access Review
Incredibly addictive fun for such a basic concept. The price tag is WELL worth the investment. It is a little bit of an RNG trap very early on, but once you're able to start buying some upgrades it becomes far less frustrating. Dev is very active, updates frequently (occasionally as often as every other day or so), and is constantly adding new stuff. This is the kind of bullet hell I REALLY like. Oh, and the floor chicken can't be beat, best floor chicken your money can buy!

What are you doing here, reading this, when you could be playing this masterpiece of a game? I mean, you get to give pets to and call Cerberus a good boy!

Ever since I played the first game in the Room series...each subsequent installment is an insta-buy for me. The puzzles are not all terribly easy, but once you figure out how all of the steps go together, it gives you a great feeling of satisfaction as you move one step deeper into the game.

The Room IV if anything seems to be a step back from The Room III with it's complexity and story. That is really my only (negligible) complaint about this most recent game. The story and the game is much more linear than TRIII is. Despite this, it does not detract from the game all that much. Just know this is a short(er) and sweet follow-up to the last game. A good buy, but perhaps wait until it is on sale given the smaller amount of content in the game.

If you're a fan of the excellent Slay the Spire, Monster Train will be RIGHT up your alley. There are similarities in the mechanics of the games, but this is NOT a clone nor a rip-off of Slay the Spire! It's a familiar backdrop with a plethora of new and interesting things...spell and unit effects, and the clan system all work together quite well.

I got this game on sale with the Steam Summer Sale, but despite being early access it is very much worth it's full price! For anyone that is a fan of rogue-like deck-building games, you cannot pass Monster Train up!

If you like anything else in the GemCraft games, you will like this one too. It takes a lot from the last installment (Chasing Shadows), and improves on many small things. A lot of things look extremely similar to GC:CS but don't let that dissuade you from playing this one, there are quite a few new options and paths to take. For instance, there are new towers, new spells, new endurance mode options and much more.

The devs for the GemCraft games have always been active and responsive, and Frostborn Wrath is no different. A small word of caution, regular game mode for GC:FW is a -significant- step up as far as difficulty goes. However, an easy mode {"Chilling") was added not too long ago and it is more in line with the difficulty of the last game.

I have been a fan of GemCraft for pretty much the last decade, and I've played all the installments to date. If you like a tower defense game with surprisingly deep and strategic game play, lots of customization options with the game's progression, and loads of replay value, this is for you.

8/10 a solid installment to an already fantastic game series.
