as of posting this, there's only three negative reviews out of 408 total.

the first opens with "DEI stuff. They default you to 'They/Them' pronouns at the start. Then the town obviously is filled with 'inclusive' characters. Hate this crap" before going on to complain about the game being too easy (while also having a playtime that tells on them as only having played the earliest section of the game).

the entirety of the other two are "A little to far to the left" and "The Sports King no longer calls you a virgin for playing Ironman mode".

its like an asymmetrical civ 5 that reads stories to you while you play

it has one of the most realistic contemporary settings ive seen in a piece of media. it's written from a good perspective, deals with heavy real-life issues, and there's lots of likeable characters too.

plus it's visually a combination of gorgeous and adorable.

ending feels a bit detached from the rest of the story, but it's not really about the ending.

Still probably my favorite FPS. More shooters should let you roll around to dodge bullets, and it has plenty of Battlefield-y "sneak behind enemy lines and hijack a tank" moments. Multiplayer is still around via GameRanger, but if that's not your thing there's a single player campaign (and looooads of mods). There's more than five maps, too!
