My grandfather smoked all his life. When I was about 10 years old, my mother told him "if you want to see your grandchildren go to college, you should quit smoking immediately." Tears came to his eyes as he realized what was at stake. He quit smoking instantly. Unfortunately, it was too late, because three years later he died of lung cancer. I was so depressed about it. My mother told me, "Never smoke. Please don't make your family go through what we are going through." Of course, I agreed with her.
