Even after the changes through the years, each version is still entertaining and fun! there is 'easy' ways to mod it yourself too using xml files to change various little things and increase damage or clip or inventory sizes or even enemy spawns. Yes i recommend this game. its easy to multiplayer with and dedicated server with too. I keep coming back to it because, it was great, it Is great, and it keeps evolving and fine tuneing, all be it Slowly, so yes grab it and join others! set player-killing to off, if you want to have more communal adventures. :) Or leave it on, if part of the fun is remembering not to use a shotgun rocket or grenade on a pack of enemies dancing melee with your friends!

This was AWFUL. AVOID! Worse then getting Covid19!

CONS: One bump and your floating in the air for 35 seconds waiting to hit the ground while the other cars lap you.

CONS: Your Respawn points are At the check points. so for the love of racing, DON'T find yourself in any of the various reasons to Reset.

CONS: and that's if you can even navigate the infuriating menu system to even GET to a race. TERRIBLE UI implementation. Awful!

CONS: They have a lot of pointless feeling weapons, and then a few that will mess you up so bad in the race they will ruin a full lap of your time.

CONS: The physics is so broken. using Nitro feels like your doing nothing at all. "Full speed" feels a lot more like racing dead snails to see which one will rot first..

PROS: Will definitely steer away from this racing game... puns intended.

PROS: I will be getting my money back. it only took 6 min of play to realize this sinking ship was sunk before i started.

I play a whole TON of racing games. this is possibly the second or third worst I've ever played, and that's really bad, considering one i played so broken, you could win the race from the restart option as long as you hadn't reached Go in 3,2,1,Go!

I paid 6$ for it, and i requested a refund. Your better off buying an actual Hotwheels toy, and rolling it around on your computer desk a few times. That's more fun then this indie mess..

This racing wreck of a game is like Sodium free Soy-sauce, it brings nothing to the table..

This is a MUST PLAY remake, it is absolutely fantastic, needs next to no configuration at all to just get right-into play. (i had to turn the audio down just a hair in settings so i could hear the voice chat of those who were in stream with me.)

its so much better then the original, yet it pays respect to the second one (system shock 2) lining-up things that are all too familiar from that game. It adds little bits, not seen prior, that will make you recolect this version, when you proceed to play System Shock 2 afterward. Without making those little additions the Focus in this game. Easter eggs that you, if playing system shock 2, will get excited to see are brought more into focus in the second game. That subtlety is HARD to achieve. It really is. Its often not even noticed by the player base. But those who become avid fans of their nostalgia later in life, progressing forward into the series, will appreciate the references. And it contributes the the whole experience of the series later on.

Now The Original SystemShock was hard on the eyes. This one can be difficult too, but less so, and for different reasons. Flat textures and LED's made the original difficult to view so much saturation and things looking similar, it was easier to get visually lost. In this version which is so much better, the strong saturation is reminiscent of the original as are the contrasting LED's on everything that are so strong. But 3d surfaces shadows and texture make it feel real. So all the same feelings of the original are back. but with shading and darkness, making it much more horror and exhilarating then before. This might be the best Remake in HISTORY.

This is better then the original, and better then the second game. yet balances that magical edge of not taking over or disrespecting either of those prior to it. This is some of the best work i have ever seen in gaming history poured into making the original game sooo much better, making it so much more real.

For all its Draw, its maybe a bit Harder then the original., which works well, because there is a lot more drawing you in to keep playing and trying. Kinda like Darksouls in the way that for as difficult as it may be, its fair and worth it, with enough interesting draws and pulls, that new players and old, will want to keep at it. Which lengthens the play experience. Meaning you get a lot more out of your cost-to-game'time ratio. Replay value is high. Even though I've not reached the end yet, I almost don't want to. Because playing it, is whats fun. the Lore, is whats fun, Collecting and upgrading, hoarding, is whats fun. And trying the paths again even more efficiently then your first re-spawn, is whats fun.

You know sometimes i consider leaving a negative review just because its what EVERYONE focuses on and reads. Everyone wants to see why its bad. why its not recommended to play... this gets a 5.5 stars out of 5. this game is 120%. Because it was built based on something ALREADY great, and lovingly modified over a long thoughtful time, excellently and RESPECTFULLY reproduced, to improve on greatness. Your group meetings and dev-socials paid off guys. Really!

The original had flaws, and left me wanting for this or that. But only because of the limitations of the era and the hardware/software of the times. It left me imagining my whole life what could have been better, or what would be taking it too far and detracting from the feel of the original with all the modern flashy-focus... the original was good, but limited by its era, They say copy-pasta is how we evolve and improve. This team of devs, made that a matter of Fact. Clearly they discussed what taking it too far astray would be, and knew how to reel it in to maintain the original's experience. Bravo!

I cant even express how much i am enjoying Panting and Sweating as i run through these Corridors. It won't matter if the ending is short unepic or abrupt. I almost don't want to beat it, because how can anything compare with a perfect immortal Classic?

I so much want to give this a bad review, just to get more cautious buyers to READ THIS REVIEW and give the game a shot. But i just cant click that 'not recommended" button. You devs have devoted time and torment to perfecting your respectful reproduction and making it even more emotionally impacting then the original, without damaging -anything- of the original.

Breed and Reproduce you devs. we need more of your genes in the pool, Your lineage will prepare us for the day System Shock becomes reality. Your magnificent grand children, will be the hackers that save humanity from something like Shodan!

30 minuets to get it set up and working on win7 with ReShade64.dll only to find that there is a grey screen when connecting to EA that says -nothing-. [EDIT: found a way to link my Steam account to my Origin account so i could pass that grey-void, only to spend 12 hours waiting in cue to play dogfight so i can progress. Nope! the multiplayer base is pretty small now, mostly Vets and WeeModders.] I've played the game through the EA Origin launcher on win10 (you cant get the Origin one to work on win7 sorry) so i got it here on steam, because you -can-. there is literally NO reason for it to be locked behind windows 10 upgrade other then corporate scheming.

But what about gameplay!? you must be asking. there is not really that much at all to this game. even at 5$ on sale its, not really worth it. unless you're an insanely zealous starwars collector/fan. the lobby battles are absolutely guaranteed to have cheaters, not just exploiters, no WeMod code injecting cheaters that are suuuper obvious. But there is Nothing you can do about it and EA does not balance nor clean up their ships or the user community. We are talking infinite shielding, impossible fire rates, infinite missiles, instant cool'downs on special abilities. And when these cheaters use their code injectors, its usually not one of them, but a FEW on a team together.

Match making you'll see the same names pop up so much so there is no way to escape the ram-editing swarm of cheating. If your coming here to play a hopeless battle against vaguely skilled players who use grotesquely obvious exploits and cheats both with TAS macros, and ram altering cheats. Welcome to hell! The Empire players will flame and fry you.

Oh and if you RECOGNIZE cheating, and LEAVE THE MATCH to not be associated with a cheater or victimized by one? Do you know what EA does??? it Penalizes YOUR account! Your match making. YOUR right to play the game YOU paid for!! OMG What the F@!$ EA! You punish your good players, for opting out and leaving an arena full of cheaters.. that -will- be there to damage your precious Kill-to-Death Ratio? this is baaaad.. don't get this gaaaame...

I already owned this game from early adoption on EA, I've got the Steam version so i could Access my profile, and get screen shots or goof off in training mode solo showing off my ship.
heck maybe ill mod it to work with 3D Vision or try it in VR. I just wana take pics of the ship skins i bought for my B-Wing model painting. Maybe ill fool around with a B-wing in single player.

When i did play multiplayer, I had to get insanely good at playing the game to even give any single cheater a rough time, or stone-wall them completely so long as his team isn't organised. Do not play this game if you are looking for balance in the force. You won't find any here.

Over all the Single Player Campaign is full of Bull-Doo-Doo too. no really. its full-of-it. Not even the game play problems (many). but even the PLOT is totally WTF fail all in itself. Totally self contradicting. And you don't get to play as just one side or the other. they YOINK you back and forth between the Empire side and the Rebel side. Focus-destroying dynamic is compounded by plot-self-sabotage.

Example: The empire mission where your squad of tie's fuss with each other about obeying the mission orders without even the slightest deviation. then immediately deviates, from a covert stealth mission. to literally go Rescue the Rebel ships they are trying to Tail... and from what you might say? Some other Empire commander whos gone rogue and is firing on 'the rebel scum you are following' so you blow your cover.. to intercept torpedoes fired from an empire ship at your enemy. Whom is so run down and busted up that the Rebels would have won anyway.... im just... WTF... its too awful to even tolerate. I don't even like the empire side of things but even from 'the enemy' in my eyes this was just too DUMB to stomach. i stopped playing campaign right there. None of this garbage better be cannon. Only Disney could screw it up worse then this.

Just trust me don't get this game... It literally, LITERALLY feels like its designed to sell you on expectations then once your in change the whole playing field to deny you anything you were looking for. It demolishes hopes, it makes itself feel ridiculously small, wildly unfair with no hope of fixing it, ravaged by cheaters whos thrill is in fractional floating point values of a KD ratio earned by so called '"'veteran'"' players using code hacks and exploitation for months or years on end. There is no 'escape to the SP campaign' to make it worth while. And really it'll just make you pissed off not in a challenging way, but a terrible let down sort of way.

Its really a shame, because a bunch of hard work from devs Did go into building the play physics, and mastering the ship models, giving them perks and abilities 'trying' to find some idea of balance _before_ release. With clearly not enough play testing. Some people in some departments Must have said, "This is TRITE, but im getting paid for it so i guess if fail is what corporate wants... fail is what corporate gets." Its just really sad. Im so sorry to everyone who was involved with making this game, as well as every person who bought it. And this game isn't even my fault.. Im just a player.. But ill do better next time, Promise!

It can feel a little bit pay to win at times, but there are particular free cars you can acquire and upgrade that are equally good. Itsa Gotcha-game with game-earned currency in order to acquire new cars, or play through the campaign to get some other ones less common. But really the game is a lot of fun! It's a great 'goto' for kids and adults who just want the thrill of doing their best on weird tracks! Lots of corner-drifting to recharge your boosters. No weapons to bother each other with, but you can bump into other cars and push them around!

Some user made tracks are pretty Trolly' though so its not always speed that wins when your playing the online mixup of random tracks. users vote for which to play from a random selection provided.

The multiplayer menus stability, and if you will have voice chat applicable is always a little random. It doesn't always connect, and you might think yourself muted. Maybe you were, or maybe not. The icon for your own talking doesn't always come up, nor does the voice you transmit always get sent. so don't rely on it much.

there is a nice selection of cars, but obviously not ALL the real Hotwheels cars are in the game. Most can be upgraded, and the common ones you can pick new skins called liveries for. The cars belonging to other intellectual properties often cant be recolored. You can make your own skins too. But you can only keep 100 skins/liveries in memory to put on your cars at a time. so chose wisely what you put on your collections!

Over all it's a blast. You can control yourself in the air with rotations of pitch yaw and roll, and then use your boosters to Go the direction you've turned. Very useful if your starting to stray off the track in mid air and want to assure your landing back where you belong!

If you like this game for the air-time-control as much as i do, but want a more techno trance house music experience,
then try D ߆ ߊ꓄ ꟻ N ⵎ Ξ ( DISTANCE ) By Refract Studios, its also on steam.

Im enjoying Hotwheels Unleashed a lot. If your on the fence about it, Id say get it. It's a good time! and feels like its less about leader boards, and more about having fun with friends! And Strangers! *^-^*

DON'T BY THIS GAME if you want to sit and pout about nothing fun to do.
Because Grounded is one of the best games I've ever played.
I favor Survival Sandbox games with Building and Crafting.
I favor the long-term game. The sort of game i have content to explore over many many hours.
I favor Co-Op games for me and kids or my mate.
Grounded has everything i want to see, executed well, and more i never dreamed i would!
It has a muted comedy aspect for just the right hint of 'don't take life too serious' But over all sticks to realism more then something like Borderlands does. And it does this while keeping things fairly realistic in a sci-fi sense, its not so overwhelmingly militant as CoD,
It can be hard, like darksouls or Monster Hunter. where its not just the equipment you use that matters, but study of the monster/bug your tangling with, that will get you involved (or hooked in my case).
I immediately played on Custom with a lot of difficult options turned on, but pets are not smart or fast enough to survive so i set them invincible.
Other then pets.. Study creature behaviors, and you'll notice them in game. The Devs put a ton of work into making the social and work related behaviors of these bugs in to play. Granted Spiders tend to be xenophobic solitary creatures, and they will often bunch up in this world. but that's the only Con and unless you know your entomology you won't even really notice. Study your targets, their behaviors can show you secrets!
The world is hand crafted. its fricken Fabulous!

Cons:
There is no sequel or expansion content yet. I WANT MORE OF THIS!

Hopes:
Make a whole other map set! make a second story elsewhere, Feed us more of the same! come back in 10 years and make a freekin sequel! Subnautica was my fave game on steam. It was the what i believed the peek of adventure sandbox crafting could be. That throne now belongs to "Grounded"

im pretty sure i've already reviewed this game before.

but, its so good, i've bought it now for 3 other people!
it is long game supportive. Not a ton of games support the 'long term' sort of players. you can collect resources endlessly, build like lego's (and Technic lego's) endlessly. Its good PG fun. all age ranges can get into this. Its kinda educational too. supports better logic thinking.

It (at this time) still has some code-issues relating to factory building, procedure assembly line setup. I hope the dev gets on fixing those... but its been a REALLY long time so im not holding my breath. But there are forums and a discord to talk to others about what to do if your factory assembly line isn't working right. In my case usually connecting and tearing off refineries often solves my assembly line issues. (and i don't even mean attaching(& detaching) them to a conveyor. literally just sticking them on some random un-important side or wall or something causes the code to re-check itself and get the 'kinks' out. So keep that in mind all you big-brain builders *^-^*

Its good for you, good for your kids, good for relaxed-tension hehe! I just love it all around. and I've at this point played for 700+ hours!!!! over the course of 4 years!!!! so its great stuff!

Not really hard. and not overly complex, no real story, Well there is(ish), but its just silly... The initial hurdle is unlocking all the parts. then its just your long game, of getting enough money or resources or parts. to last you through all your creative mind can concoct! :D

just be careful letting too many stored-on-field resources build up in open air silos and collectors. it runs physics for every single thing on the field! soo yeah convert those raw resources into blocks and put them in your dimensional storage instead!! iv you've a rainbow of twirling little pieces suspended in tractor beams or piles... clean it up!! compress it to blocks pronto!! then the lag will go away. *nods*

Bought this on humble bundle for like a buck fifty five. Not here for whatever 18+ patch is available to the boys. I don't want sauce, i want story depth and magical girls learning the difference between blind destructive faith, and Actually opening your heart to others with compassion and understanding. Kinda like Kipo on netflix. I was hoping to see characters grow into irrefutable beacons of actual compassion for all things. And that my "Choices" (which there really aren't any in the game) would help steer them toward a pure 'good end' of friendship and hand-n-hand rehabilitation for all the 'evils' of the world. Yeah. I definitely purchased the wrong game. But maybe "Winged Cloud" you can hear my plea? provide more path choices to thee. And allow us magical girls to reach a good and actually morally profound conclusion to this story? Im probably barking up the wrong tree. It is all its ever going to be.

As it stands, I do not recommend.

I don't know how 'late game' pans out yet, but I've been enjoying this game quite a bunch for the last 10 hours or so. It's a bit like RimWorld, only you finally get to play as a Character In that world, and not just the force of some overseer. Which is great for me, i like to explore, and get into dangers id never subject my colonists to! Running fine on Win10 and Win7. Mouse and keyboard will be better for you as item selection and moving between inventories is a total pain with the controller. waaay too gamepad button presses to move something from one inventory to the next. Making rooms for colonists is tricky. i don't know the golden rles for it yet, but they don't like my 3xLONG rooms so its probably 4x required, or they will try to share rooms.

Anyway try it out!

Update: Still enjoying it 65 hours of playtime later. about to make a second colony, with all the little quirks accounted for that my stumbling didn't manage to predict would come up on my first run. My mate and i are Co-op 'ing the world together. We are happy and having fun. We run the game from dedicated server mode all the time. unless we will be out on vacation a week or so. Its fun popping back in every day or so and seeing how all the workers have done, what boxes are filled, and moving stuff around so its all in range of the crafting tables. doing a flurry of cooking for everyone in town. then going out on a new adventure, or island shopping for a new colony location. Im enjoying the long game, and taking my time to do each tier of growth. Raids can be pretty tough. but there are smart ways to get the AI raiders to slip up. and i don't think the raids occur when we are offline. so Yay! *^-^*

@Devs this is no reason to stop updateing and adding features and content to the game though! you can make it as complex and fun as RimWorld! and happily still multiplayer like rimworld Isn't!

I like the visual aesthetic a whole lot! The color pallet simplicity even for such a busy-screen bullet hell is absolutely perfect. Whats more, dark background, white shots, but -incoming- shots that can hurt you, are orange/red making them easy to see. This game is a Gem to me.

I've plenty of others like it that are just too busy and eye-strain to enjoy as much as i enjoy 20 Minutes Till Dawn. Yes it can be difficult if you get unlucky in your upgrade path, but over all it's a very enjoyable romp with replay value and a lot of late-gamer options too. So you can sit and enjoy it for a bit, -or- get into it over a long haul.

10 min and 20 min modes, where one is just a faster pace of the other, but it changes the dynamics enough to be its own... And then theres Endless mode.... are you getting frustrated with the timer cutting off your fun of finally having an uber-weapon-build? Well Endless will let you keep right on leveling it! So long as you don't fall to the hoards.

Yeah I've gotten a LOT of worth for my dollar out of this game. I am quite pleased with it.

Cons: The only bad thing?
- Humm, No sequels yet?
- No DLC for me to throw more money at this game for?


100% i will buy a 20 min till dawn TWO.
Or maybe some other game based on this universe's world/lore/story if there is any.
