The best ARPG on the market for people who like game play and character depth.
-Will keep you playing longer and give you more goals than other similar games.
-You can follow the popular community builds or create your own build/style entirely.
-You can play an entirely solo style or engage with other players in play and trade.
-New content is developed and released every ~3 months so there is always something fresh to try ( If the content is good its added to the core game)
-F2P : most transactions are pure cosmetic, its worth it to buy ~20$ worth of stash space if you find you enjoy the game but isn't necessary to get a feel for the game ( no game play restrictions for free players).
-Has a learning curve to get over but there is a lot of community guides/tools and info out there to help if you look, and the community is generally friendly.

Expect to die and learn as you go, Give the game a try there is nothing to lose.

From someone who has given this game 2 years to improve, checking it periodically to see if its made improvements, and has watched over 2000 hours of it via twitch.tv I'd have to sadly say that currently this game is not worth your money. It hasn't surpassed the level of detail in play or the enjoyment of Arma 2 mods and is constantly an unstable mess which includes hackers/scripters , extremely poor optimization, and reoccuring game breaking bugs.

In addition the developement of this game has been such a shamble that it can't even deliever the zombies half the time and has been past up in many regards by several similar games. However they still charge $35 USD and give either no or minimal discount during sales to encourage new players and many players who are tired of waiting for major progress or a finished product have moved on.

My final recommendation is to take your $30+ dollars and buy ArmA 3 when its on sale if you are looking for a survival zombie game. It is a completed game running on a much better looking and preforming engine, and has a wide variety of not just survival mods ( several of which have the same feel/map as dayZ but improved systems for trading, events, and grouping) , but also provides you with access to other combat and roleplaying mods/gamemodes as well.

I hope to one day be proven wrong and have dayZ release in an enjoyable state, but they have lost my faith slowly over the last 2 years.
