This is a review from someone who really wants this game to succeed and knows it will eventually come around.

This game has been plagued with server issues since it’s launch, which is terrible, embarrassing and is still ongoing so far, but I know they will eventually be fixed so I won’t talk about them further.

The biggest issue with this launch is that there are only 8 heists to start with. None of them are 3 day heists or even 2 day heists. They're all single day heists. That wouldn't be an issue if they were good heists, but none of them really stand out as fantastic heists. They're all just okay at best. None of the heists really grab you and make you go "I really want to play that one again!" There just simply isn't enough content on launch to justify the price tag right now.

The second biggest issue is that you don't get XP for doing heists. You get XP by completing preset challenges like "crouch slide X meters" or "get X headshots using this specific weapon". If you don't complete any challenges during your heists, you'll get 0 XP, even if you complete the mission fully without any issues. This really forces the player to play for the challenges rather than exactly how they want to, if they want to continually level up and get more skills and guns. Although I'm almost certain the devs will change this since there's such immense backlash towards it and it’s silly to begin with.

Other minor issues include:
-How crappy the menu is to navigate. It's VERY clear that the menus in this game were designed for a controller and there was no mouse and keyboard thought at all. They're annoying to navigate.
-The weapon modding screen is awful. Instead of giving defined values for your weapon stats, there's just a bar for each stat. Even the mod descriptions are counter-intuitive. Does "+ Horizontal Recoil" mean there's more recoil or does it mean the stat goes up and there's actually less recoil because the bar goes up and it's green as it does?
-This game is always online. You can't host matches or even play solo without being online all the time. This would relief a ton of the issues players are having with the servers if you could play offline.
-Matchmaking is a mess. If you choose matchmaking and don't find a group, but it decides to host a server for you anyways as the only player, no more players will ever be added to your lobby. You’ll have to cancel matchmaking, go back in and find a new game and hope it’s a full server this time. (This isn’t 100% confirmed, but I’ve yet to have someone join my lobby after it’s already been made. Someone please let me know if this is wrong)
-Why do I have to filter out the stupid story videos from the map selection EVERY time I want to find a heist? Who thought it would be a good idea to have those in the map selection by default?
-Why was crouch sliding added to this game? It feels so out of place and horrible to use. You can’t even separate your crouch and slide buttons in case you don’t want to slide after sprinting.

Deep down, you can tell this game really does have the bones to become a great game and I really do enjoy the gameplay, but there are just WAY too many negatives outweighing the positives to justify the price tag right now. There are also a ton of questionable things about the game that leave you thinking “Who the hell thought this would be a good idea?!” If you’re on the fence about getting this game right now, I would say it’s probably a minimum of a few months away and at least 2 or 3 (free) content patches worth of gameplay before it would be considered worth it.

This game is hard, relentless, unforgiving, incredibly fun, addictive and has tons of replayability. I personally think this game is a hard to learn, hard to master type game. This game is not for the weak-willed who seek handholding, checkpoints or walks in the park.

Dungeon of the Endless is a tower defence game that draws RPG, rogue-like, dungeon crawling and resource management elements. You start each game by picking 2 heroes out of a 24 (with all of DLC and unlockable characters) member cast. Each hero has different stats that help your team in one way or another (Speed, Power, Health, and Wit). Your objective is to look for the exit of the floor, which leads to the next floor. Each floor gets progressively harder and harder the further down you go. To "win" or complete the game, you have to complete all 12 floors. You start each floor in a single room and have up to 4 different directions you can go. Each room you enter has a chance to spawn dust (used to powers rooms) as well as: other resources, merchants, treasure (that can be worn for bonuses or sold for resources), other heroes to add to your team (for a max of 4 heroes per team) and/or monsters! For each room you enter, any room you do not have powered by dust has a chance to spawn monsters in it. You will eventually come to a point where the minority of your rooms will be powered and lots of monsters are spawning. This is where strategy and micro-managing your heroes comes into play. You have to find the perfect setup where you can defend all your modules and your crystal, without your heroes dying. This will require quick thinking, quick calculations and quick action to make sure you can defend all directions without losing modules, heroes or resources. If you lose (from either monsters taking your crystal down or losing all your heroes), you do not start from where you left off, you will need to start from floor one again with a new team.

I’ve read a ton of negative reviews saying this game has way too much RNG to be recommended. You can definitely be ♥♥♥♥♥♥ over by RNG in this game, but 90% of the time you have that bad of RNG, it’s definitely winnable if you just play your heroes and defence right. The feeling of conquering an insanely hard floor after getting some bad RNG is pure bliss.

I recommend this game to anyone looking for a challenging game or a completely new take on tower defence. You will lose NUMEROUS times before you finally win (on Easy at least), but that first victory is one to remember. If you’re looking to start playing this game, I’d highly recommend checking out the let’s play link below. This video really helped me understand the basics when I was first starting out.
