Immersive. Not easy to get in to. Magnificent story-line. Great graphics. Huge on the disk.

DEEP.
Play any faction, every one is different in its abilities. Can be a LONG game :) From field battles to sieges, assassins to espionage with spies there plenty of variety. Economics and trade along with diplomacy are as important as army abilities. Very enjoyable game.

Making History Gold {/1] I have played this “version” for 4+ hours as The Soviet Union (Russia.) This version is similar to the original Making History WW2 of many years past. This version loads smoothly with my crap computer and the save-games work well.
I recommend this version only as a trainer sort of game. The tech-tree and city build queues as simplistic. The graphics are, as the rest of the game, basic.
Of the games in the series I like the ‘Great War’ (WW 1) simulation even though my computer takes a round about way to, load. I have played it for hundreds of hours and am in the process of conquering the world (I already won) by invading the USA, as Germany.
The other ‘War of the World’ (WW 2) games are fine to play. I have extreme difficulty loading them. MOST of the time I have to reboot, take a shower and diddle around to get a save-game to reload. That is sad- it may be due to my computer.
Anyway, all the games are interesting. Germany is by far the easiest to play and usually wins with some judicious playing. The UK blows- very difficult to keep the ‘Empire’ together with a rampant Germany/Japan on the loose. There is more that I could say about those plays but I will limit my post to this game.
Enjoy, experiment.

Great turn-based action. Buildable armies from units.

Says 84 hours :) gotta be since new system. I have played this game for years. Brazil could win, Romania, eheckoslavakia, USA, Britain, Germany, Japan, China- perhaps a few others. Unless you are able to grab resource rich territory wihout having a major power jump in the road to winning can be done. Never shrink your military- this invites opportunits such as UK and USSR.
Great game- waste a lot of time here :)
