A lot more bare bones than X3, economy is very sluggish to begin with, but once you get shipyards is no longer issue.
Fleet appears to be the goal here, but is incredibly slow and even in combat very dull.
Played for a decent amount of time, just didn't get hooked. Had a few run throughs but quite anaemic end game.
Although improvement on rebirth.

Early Access Review
Enjoyability of this game relies on its playerbase.
Personally I didn't have a problem with any of the updates themselves. My issue was the reaction to the updates, as people just stopped playing.
I play a medic which is reliant on basically following a decent tank around healing them. Unfortunately decent tank players have seemingly left the game. I'm left healing fliers and snipers .
Basically team compostion has severely suffered.
Finally if your team is getting pumped and you want to surrender but 2 people want to stay for RP, you go afk and wait for game to finish, you get branded a griefer. First time in my life I've received this title. Then you get a nice little message saying you've recieved a strike. 1 of 3 well I wont be needing the other 2 as I shall not be playing anymore.

If you had a time machine then I'd heavily recommend this game, but in its current state it is better best avoided.

£57 to buy one plane with golden eagles. Let that sink in.
AAA games sometimes don't cost this much.

Just look at the reviews of people who've invested a lot of time in the game and that should be all the info you need.
The gameplay itself is pretty good. I think its fun when people are playing it with the objective in mind.
Because the jets are so expensive it take literally months to earn 1 jet and months to get all the mods.
So people ignore the objective and concentrate on getting the most kills - sometimes shooting through allies to get a kill.
In essence Great game/Awful Devs and community.
What makes the game even more of a grind is if you don't get a lot of kills in a game, you actually lose points to fix your planes.
I've been stuck 600k now for ages. so whilst a might have a couple of good games if I have a few bad games I basically don't advance. SO even in a few years where I earn enough research points to get a new T5 plane I sure as hell wont be able to afford it. Well Done Gaijin; you turned a pretty good game into a grindfest that really isnt worth playing anymore.

Tried it again recently and jesus it got more grindy.

Looks more fun than it is.
Looks great, plays pretty poorly. Unsure if theres a matchmaking system, if there is its pretty terrible. You'll find yourself getting pumped by higher skill level players a lot. I'm a veritable noob and got my ass handed to me with little to no chance on my side.
I enjoyed TF2 a lot and was drawn to this as there seemed a few similarities.
This Lacks the smoothness and well rounded gameplay of TF2.

Really basic gameplay looks more fun than it is.
You log on and its evident not a great deal of people play this. The few that do are way above your level and you get pwned. so Maybe I missed the fun side of things by getting mismatched with people way above my level.
But leaving matchmaking aside I didn't see a great deal on offer here, think I'll stick to robocraft.

Definately more of an improvement over original rocksmith, though it doesn't suck you in as much as the original.
I think the original Rocksmith is more game like but you progress less as a guitarist. Whereas RS14 feels more like a tool and makes you go to riff repeater to learn sections.
Definately advise anyone interested in learning a guitar/bass to pick this up as you find yourself learning songs way quicker than from a teacher/youtube. As a tool for learning songs I thinks its second to none though for music theory it is a bit stunted, certain things like theory and strumming patterns etc need to be taught by a teacher or youtube/videos/books.
But pretty amazing software, I 've played more guitar in the last few weeks than I had in the previous couple of years.
