I love this game. It's fun and challenging.

I'm a space engineer. This game came out while I was at university, and although it's not remotely as detailed as real life, there is enough here, especially with a generous helping of mods, to really *comprehend* the basics of real space flight. If that floats your boat, then KSP is just brilliant!

When Arkham Asylum came out, it was *the* Batman game. When Arkham City came out, it was *the* Batman game. Now a new challenger has arisen and destroyed all in its path.

Arkham Knight is the biggest, the smoothest, the prettiest and the baddest of them all.

Almost everything that you loved about its predecessors is back and, playing the good guy, Rockstar has even included some of the improvements WB Montreal made in Arkham Origins... not that there were that many.

But Arkham City's already awesome combat system has only been improved here. All the favourite moves are back, along with a large skill tree, but it's just so fast and so fluid. Playing with a dated Athlon X4, 8GB of RAM and a GTX 770, the game runs like a dream most of the time.

The only (slight) frame-rate drops are when driving the Batmobile in high-speed chases.

And the Batmobile, which I feared to be nothing more than a gimmick, has actually turned out very well. The new streets of Gotham retain their claustrophobic feel, yet there is plenty of room for the car (or tank as Gotham's crooked denizens call it).

The story line is also excellent, if standard comic fare. But there is something missing, and that is good dialogue. One can only assume that the loss of Batman: The Animated Series alumnus Paul Dini, who was chief writer on the first two Arkham games, has taken its toll. It was a dead cert that his presence would be missed and, sadly, it is.

Nonetheless, this is everything you could hope for from a next-gen Batman game. It's only sad that Rockstar has said this will be its last. I'm sure the engine will be handed to someone else, but whether they can scale the heights of Rockstar remains to be seen.
