Nothing instantly kills my child-like wonderment quite like the moment this EGS crap gets force crammed into game with ZERO listing on the store page. We did this just fine without it for 4.1 and 5.

It's not a "Bad" game, nor is it really a "Good" one either. It's a satisfactory time waster that definitely has heart put into it, but yet somehow still lacks a soul. Ultimately it's another one of those "steam needs a mixed review" option, but in this case I'm gonna say no for a few reasons I'll list below that's kept me from properly finishing it off.

-My biggest critique is simply this. The main loop is daily farming out the same resources ad infinitum so you can meet the resource requirement to be allowed to farm even more resources, or the same ones for the next requirement

-Fishing is an absolute g r i n d, with no pay off unless you're going for the romance-able character associated with it

-Combat is just kind of a thing, it exists, it will not evolve or differ in any way other than which tool to smack it with this time

-Diagnosing patients is just one of a few slow minigames. This one is more of a personal problem than anything with the game specifically but I went in hoping to use my brain a bit more than was expected in this area

As a final word, the tetris'ing of parts to make the potions is fun but it's a lot of what's built around getting to that experience that I feel drags the game down

My review will likely echo many others.

+There's a fun game in here, the moment to moment is clean and the overall loop can be quite engaging. Queueing up with the squad during the first two days? Chefs kiss.

-But it's ruined by some of the most over the top egregious, greedy, and fun consuming monetization and balancing problems I've seen on the modern games market. The currency system cluster♥♥♥♥ alone is worth my downvote. The map design is another. The unit balance is a final nail in that coffin.

A delightful title with a fun hook and some interesting additions to the genre. Let's break it down bit by bit as I gush a bit about Ghostlore for you.

+If you like Diablo, if you like Grim Dawn, PoE, ect, Ghostlore will probably be right up your alley. A dungeon crawler, loot driven game with a grid board for slotting in Glyphs you pick up. While fairly basic the Glyph board offers some interesting additions in the combo ones you find, which leads to this sort of tetris'ing for optimization of build which can be engaging or frustrating depending on player.

+The aesthetic is simply unlike anything else pretty much on market or at least well within public eye. Eastern stylings that isn't just default Japanese, it's like seeing something familiar and yet also fantastical at the same time while being rooted firmly in a rich culture; and frankly I appreciate the hell out of that.

+6 classes, each with 4 main abilities, 4 upgrades each to said abilities, and 4 general passives, with multiclassing at levels 15 & 30, to create a 3 pronged build all your own based on the kinds of things you want to focus.

When the double dousing of wood resource devaluing and item durability repair gets either revert or properly revamped, my score changes back to positive. Fun game, very fun, but we're seeing a pattern of nerfs and tedium adjustments so far. Tools already break in an instant, just remove durability at this point and put more interesting options in the game.
