Fun game, but make it PVE exclusive, or at least separate PVP from PVE.

Really fun game with good vibes. I had a blast even playing it solo.
When I did a NG+ with another character, I went through the whole game again without being able to stop.

There are minor flaws, for example the input of the aeriel special (B+Y while aerial) is hard to pull off in my experience, because you already have a special aerial move that doesn't require Y to be press, which means you will often pull this one instead of the other, and also because that specific special move is supposed to be an air grab (not stated by the game).
If you're a completionist some things are a bit hard to keep track on, such as not being able to see what item you've already purchased or not on characters, which is annoying because first time purchase will boost your character stats.

All in all, love that game. I'm excited to play the next entry when I get around to it.

Ah, Neon White. Talk about Instantaneous fun, which will then increase the further you go into the game as more tools are introduced.
The soundtrack fits the unrelenting gameplay.

Do not be fooled by its appearances though, it's not all about gameplay, the story and characters are also interesting and endearing.

If you worry about content, I'm writing this review as I finished my first playthrough with Ace medals on every level, every side quests done, every characters affinity chart maxed out.
Regarding replayability, as it is speedrun focused, you can expect the usual leaderboard if you want to compete worldwide, if not, you can go back and try to get all Ace medals and gifts hidden in the levels if you haven't already.
On top of this, after completing the game you unlock two new challenging modes. Finishing the story will unlock one, but you can unlock other modes by maxing other characters affinity chart.
To finish things, it looks like you'll need to play the game a second time if you want 100% completion, as there are two different endings.

I was simply curious about this game at first, but I got HOOKED. It's good, and cheap. Do not hesitate.

I tried, I really tried. But I can't recommend this game if you value your time or your sanity.

I have to praise them for the sound design of combat, it feels really powerful and satisfying.

Other than that...people say you spend 10/12 hours to get to max lvl, that's not true. If you discover the game, you're more likely to spend around 25/30 hours to reach the point where you can start the endgame (which is not attaining level 50, but finishing a specific main story quest).
And you do that, by following the main story quest, which should net you the exact amount of exp to reach lv50 at the end.

I have to mention that my 31.3 hours of playtime on this game were for the most part pure pain. The levelling is mind numbing, the world feels bland and generic, even though it's pretty. The maps are mainly corridors that you blitz through. You barely do anything substantial during the levelling process (press G simulator). I'm not kidding, the only boss that had somewhat of a mechanic was found at level 49. Every single boss before that, was simply "dodge aoe, punish".

You play from level 1 to 50 exactly the same way. 80% of NPC fetch quest, 20% of occasional dungeons maybe 3/5/7 mobs to kill sometimes. Such a shame for game whose strong point is combat.

Then, if you manage to endure this, you reach endgame, The fun's gonna start right ?
That's what I thought as well. I had fun, for two dungeons of chaos. Then you're introduced to a stamina system that boosts your lootrate (1 dungeon entry = 1 bar used). After that, the droprates become absysmally low. And this stamina is shared between guardian raids and dungeon of chaos.
I also tried a guardian raid, raid that you can do solo by the way, everything could be done solo from what I've played, which is strange for a MMO.
It must have been one of the most boring ♥♥♥♥ I've ever played, they tried to pull a monster hunter.

You need to first find the monster you're trying to kill (within a 20 minutes time limit), and the boss will change location at least once during the fight. The boss has no healthbar, but if you fail the raid you will see how much % of HP was left. Very strange decision to be honest, when everything else in the game had an healthbar. Anyway, I ended up rotating aroud the bear, baiting an attack to punish it, rinse and repeat. No mechanic whatsoever. Exactly the same pattern as everyboss from level 1.
Then you move on to see how you upgrade your gear. And you realize how much you will have to farm to progress.

Maybe, it really gets better, but I think that after 31 hours of playtime, if everything that was supposed to be fun wasn't, there is a problem.

Not to the mention the queues, getting kicked out of the game, and the servers laggign so much that you have trouble finding a group to play with in endgame, or sometiems the game won't even register your entry in a dungeon even if you accepted it. That's how MMOs launch tho, so it's not that big of a deal.

This game has so much charm, do yourself a favor and buy it.
Even though the combat is not nearly as complex as DMC5 for example and can be imprecise at times, the constant need to switch between member abilities, even mixing them together to adapt to the enemies that are thrown at you makes the combat feel good in its own way.
I liked everything, characters, music, story...it also has quite the amount of content with two different playthrough and some endgame quest.
I would love to see more Bandai Namco games of this quality.
