for cpu change to amd phenom x6, anyone of those, check the g3d mark for cpu's and look which is best and at what prices, or the second generation of i7 cores, they should always perform alright :) hope this helps. witcher has a massive compatible right, so u should be fine running on lower specs

30fps is good, that should also do you fine, 20fps is pushing it, but 20fps can be alright depending on the game and how things are processed in ur card. theres quite a lot of factors but we don't need to go into such depth. anything below 20 is not good, this is where u'll notice MAJOR lag lol. if u are thinking of any improvements, first thing would be to improve that graphics card, if u are going to change ur gpu, make sure its a high end graphics card,. right at the top of direct x 11 cards. those cards that can do directx11 but of the lowest ones that can support that are not that great. picking the 6990 would be a very wise choice, that that is quite pricey, i'd advise getting the card i have ati 5870. its still in the top ten cards.

cpu is ok-ish, a quad core, but with amd, u should have a hex core, mine is the 1055T hex core. 8gb ram? god knows why u need that much, unless u use photoshop for rendering work in digital arts or product design. my brother does this stuff, which is why i have 8GB too. grahics card is still in the high end region but in the lower spectrum of the high, doesn't support direct x 11, but consider that a good thing for witcher because it should run better, i'd advis not even approaching ultra, go to the settings before u start the game and pick medium auto settings, disable v-sync, and your fps should be good :) download something called fraps, it gives u a number when playing games at the top left, u can change it to a different corner if u want by pressing f12 when u're in the game. this number will change all the time, it displays ur fps. its a good way to know if ur pc is running at a smooth rate. 60fps is the best, anything higher is of course even better,
