May revisit the game after the *bugs* have been taken care of, but too much wasted time waiting for friends to finish a game after your game crashes, and then you rejoin the party and the game fails to load you into the game when they start the next round. I am not doing my part.

Yet another live service game that had potential squandered by the insatiable appetite of capitalism. Why have engaging content when you could crank out paid DLC's week after week while barely making any improvements to the live service you touted? The campaign mode was garbage, saving and exporting mixes was buggy, and the game servers shut down barely over two years from launch. Beware any games from studios owned by Epic Games. Server death is their likely fate, and sooner rather than later!

Everything you like about Among Us, but better! Built-in proximity chat that always works (unlike Crew Link for AU) and built-in roles that don't need to be updated like mods for AU. My weekly Among Us group has switched over to Goose Goose Duck and didn't look back!

This game (and the staff at Gaggle) consistently amaze me at how they continue to produce high-quality content like new maps, new roles, and new cosmetics. I've now been playing for over a year and watched the community grow and the staff are just as dynamic and interactive with the community as they were during the early access phase. If Among Us is checkers, Goose Goose Duck is chess.

Very engaging puzzler, took about 90 minutes to work through with a friend. Was a really fun experience that is hard to pass up at the price of FREE. I didn't experience any bugs or glitches. Will definitely consider purchasing the next two games.

Battle Royale for people who don't normally like Battle Royale

When I first started playing the Super Free Edition of SAR, I was skeptical. I don't typically like BR type games (full disclosure: it's because I am BAD at them). But I decided to try it because it was free, why not right? I was pleasantly surprised to find a lighthearted top-down BR filled with cute animals violently killing each other. It was like playing a game based on Happy Tree Friends.

I had originally only planned on trying SAR for an hour or so, but ended up playing for five hours. I kept getting cosmetic item drops, but on the free version, those items were tied to my account but could not actually be equipped. A friend gifted me the Founder's Edition of the game, and I haven't looked back since. I highly recommend this game, especially if you don't typically like Battle Royale style games. I believe you will be pleasantly surprised!

Pros
  • Quick matches
  • Cute animals
  • TONS of customization and unlockable skins
  • Frequent updates adding new animals, weapons, cosmetics, and map additions

Cons
  • Low volume at certain times of day lead to servers with 50% (or more) bots in the matches

This game is still in early access, and has taken a backseat to PixelByPixel's newer game, Marbles on Stream. Hopefully, the devs will eventually come back to update this game, because it does have fun gameplay for when you just want to blast stuff for a while. At its core, Resurgence is a wave shooter, with more and stronger enemies spawning each wave. Every tenth level is a boss wave. I won't spoil the mechanics, but surviving your first boss wave will take a much different strategy than completing a normal wave. At this time, each boss wave has the same mechanics, with additional boss health and more standard enemy spawns creating the extra difficulty.

Besides the basic gameplay, you collect rewards after each successful wave. These come in the form of cards that can be used to unlock or upgrade your armor and weapons. There are at least five different weapons available, each having its particular strengths. As you complete waves, you earn arena credits, the in-game currency. These credits can be used to purchase additional upgrade cards from the shop in the game lobby.

The game does support multiplayer, but I have only had one chance to play this way so can't give an objective review over this feature. There is an entrance in the lobby for PVP, but I have not tried that mode yet either.

Quests in the game offer rewards for completing tasks, such as completing a certain number of waves, upgrading a certain number of chests, and etc. Completed quests reward arena credits, upgrade cards, or free chests. Currently there is no way to cancel a quest, so you may be stuck early on with a quest that asks you to kill X number of enemies after wave 30 for example.

If this were a completely released game, I would not recommend a purchase. However, as it is still in early access, I can vouch for the fun I've had in this work-in-progress, including encountering and documenting some hilarious bugs (boat mode!). Definitely worth a few hours of your time!

Game seems fun, but I experience a freeze within 15 minutes of driving that makes the game unplayable.

This game is awesome! Perfect blend of old-school precisely timed movements with music-based elements. Watched some gamers streaming hardcore runs and was hooked. This game is worth it at full price, even better if you get it on sale!
