I have almost 1500 hours on the original Hunt Showdown but the update to 1896 has made it a pretty poor game for me that I would not recommend for 3 main reasons. I will update my review if this changes.
1. Before the update I could play on moderate settings at 90+fps. In busy areas this may drop to the 70's. I now struggle to maintain even 60fps on the lowest graphical settings.
2. Frequent bugs - prior to the update the game was quite stable. Now it is quite hit and miss with random crashes, disconnects, and dying from seemingly nothing (damage history only notes I was healing, no damage whatsoever).
3. It had a good UI. It is now terrible. Emblematic of this is that to quit the game you have to click the quit game symbol, which brings up a quit menu where you click quit (the only option in the menu) and then it asks you to confirm you want to quit the game. 3 separate clicks of quit just to exit the game. The entire UI is like this.
