---A stepping stone for Half-Life Alyx?---
First off, kudos to the devs for attempting to bring VR physics to the next level. Interactions are amazing as you can use items in different ways as tools to accomplish your task. A crowbar can be used to not only break a box, but also as a hook to pull yourself up ledges. It definitely is one of the better VR physics demos.

However, this is mostly that. A physics demo.

The game itself is extremely lacking in the design department. How so? Here are some examples that are repeat offenders throughout the title:
-Lots of padding corridors to extend the level. Long stretches of empty tunnels with literally nothing in them are scattered throughout the map. Long ramps and stairs are thrown into the mix and it makes the levels just feel so poorly designed.
-In some levels they intentionally designed you to have to walk back 5 minutes of empty corridors if you fail a jump. In one level, the devs put a 'sorry' on a door, and made it a one-way locking door which required you to place a brick to jam it or else it shuts behind you and you have to re walk an entire section you just cleared. This is very bad use of the puzzle logic.
-While the zombie-like enemies and robo-headcrabs are pretty fun to fight, the human enemies with guns are terribly designed. The way they do gunfights is often spamming a whole lot of these gunmen that charge you. They take a lot of bullets to kill even with headshots. You will find yourself mostly just peeking a corner with a rifle and edging as you shoot one down at a time.
-While I appreciate that the puzzles require some thinking and not handed to you on a platter, the use of confusing assets on the maps waste a lot of time because these assets look like they are important when they are not. An example would be a guardhouse-looking structure. It is blue in color, contrasting to the level which is mostly grey, and you can clearly see an opening into it which is inaccessible by normal jumps. With the knowledge that this is a physics puzzle game you bring crates and stack your way up, and finally walk into the doorway into the structure. Empty. The structure itself was supposed to be an ambient prop and not part of the puzzle at all, yet it was given a high level of importance and emphasis.
-On a touch controller cocking your weapon is frustrating. A lot of times your character uses to finger to pinch the handle and you have to jerk the controller around randomly just to ♥♥♥♥ your weapon. Guns feel very clunky to use, far from NODE's claim of 'the best vr guns'.
-Puzzles feel very weird. They aren't exactly difficult, but they just very janky to complete. I'd admit its in part due to VR being janky in itself, however, some of the puzzles leave the spot just high enough that you can't get with a normal jump, and you have to climb a pole and drop yourself just nice on the next spot.

There are many more on the list that I could ramble on, but the main point is that it feels like the devs spent so much effort into making great physics and tech systems that they had to skimp and quickly throw together a game without polishing it properly with good design. Overall I think Boneworks is a nice title to buy if you want to experience next-gen physics and interactions. its a great tech demo, just not a good game.

The idea is good, but the developers really need to hire an actual game designer to sit down and design the missions.

The whole 'selling point' the devs keep pushing is the ability to teleport to a dead enemy's spot and take their weapon. Sounds fun right?

Well, the entire game is built to DISCOURAGE that gameplay. Remember that game mode nobody likes in ANY game? Yes, Wanted killer has escort maps, and LOTS of them. Most missions are either ESCORT or DEFEND, where you need to stay within a tiny spot around a drone or else the timer stops and you need to go back into the zone to continue. So teleporting out is just a waste of time.

Enemies just infinitely spawn until you finish the escort, and getting weapon changes and pickups require you to teleport out of the zone. The entire system is just counter intuitive, its like the devs somehow cant decide if they dont want you to move around or to stay.

Theres a grinding system that somehow exists for no reason other than to just keep you grinding. Visuals are decent and sound design is okay. Everything else would work... If the devs actually realized its 2019 and that Escort missions are so last year.

Its a shame because I really like the riot shield character, and if the missions were not so poorly designed I would give this game a proper thumbs up.

I seldom give games a negative rating, however I feel that the control decisions the devs have made with this game is unforgivable until they fix it.

If you have played pretty much any VR shooter you should be familiar with a standard set of controls. With the touch controllers usually most games follow the same conventions. Not with Bloodtrail! Controls arent what you expect, and for some reason the bindings dont make sense.

The shotgun is clunky asf, and half the time trying to load a shell is awkward and lame because the place you have to load the shell is in a very specific angle and a very tiny spot so expect spending 10 seconds to find the loading spot then you die. Until the devs change the controls to mimic the conventional shooters I cant give this game a recommendation. Its a shame because the game has a very interesting gore system, and would be a good game if not for the controls.

Fun game but I recommend purchasing armour suits for your family members as you're highly likely to take a lunge and smack someone's body with full force.

A little lacking in content but its worth it on sale I guess. Great for parties where the guests all have active life insurance.

If you enjoy zombie shooters and own a VR set, this game is quite worth the 20 odd bucks.

+Guns sound great, loud and impactful and not the watered down thuds most games use.
+Zombie dismemberment is pretty fun with melee.

+-Coop is fun and great that it is there however in coop if you die you have to wait in a saferoom until a team mate comes and frees you. It works in pancake games but for VR? Nah.
+-Open world Not many VR titles have open world. Having the ability to explore and kill zombies while finding loot is great. However, the suburbs get boring after a while as all the houses pretty much look the same.

-You need to find magazines to learn how to place attachments, which is honestly a terrible system.
-Zombie damage is literally instantly applied on you once they get close enough. You dont even see them making a swing and you are dead pretty quick.

Overall I hope we get more maps and environs as the current map is getting quite stale. Still, its a decent zombie shooter and the guns are surprisingly one of the easiest to use, albeit sometimes headshots deal little damage to zombies for whatever reason.

Decent F2P shooter that is surprisingly not pay2win but has a lot of outdated decisions that rely on more predatory MTX still.

+Free
+Decent visuals and sound
+Good variety of guns, although anything that is not Full Auto or a OHK sniper is just worse off
+Good attachment options
+Nice skins, you can earn some free as well
+Maps are similar to old school COD 3-lane, none of the new 'porous' bs that MW peddles to make newbies feel better
+Killstreaks are well balanced

-Outdated equipment rental and repair system from older Asian F2P shooters that really should not be here
-NETCODE IS JUST TRASH. This game will never be competitive because of massive peeker's advantage and ghost shots.
-Full Auto > Everything else
-Very slow content drop rate, possibly studio is too small
-Small playerbase
-Rarely a balanced match, one side will be far dominating the other
-Sweaty tryhards jump shotting and abusing the poor netcode with meta guns is common

Honestly it costs you nothing to try the game. Its appeal lies in the fact that this is the game to get a more skill based COD experience, since the newer CODs have just gone down the drain trying to mass cater to the lower skill demographic. However, the netcode in this game is singlehandedly the worst aspect of it, and until they fix that it is unlikely this game will grow much.

The idea is decent, its like a fun little top down shooter with intense action. However, on KBM the devs made it such that the mouse follows your character's movement not the mouse aim. This may be hard to explain in words but basically mouse aim is sluggish and unreliable. Even worse on the Steam forums someone brought it up and the dev response is that its supposed to be a difficult game.

Yeah sorry but no. Difficulty does not come from handicapping your players. This isn't 1990. I'm sure the devs intend you to play with a controller, but releasing a PC game with subpar KBM setup is just a big NO in my books.

Proceed with caution.

If you like hack n' slash and shooters, this might be a decent buy.

+The visuals look great, with very stylized HUD/ color and lighting.
+Combat feels quite smooth and responsive, and there are enough skills to keep the battle flowing.
+It's ~5-8 bucks depending on your region.
+The game is engaging. I finished the current release in one sitting, without feeling bored or the need to take a break.
+Theres boss fights, although boss fights usually ebcome a 'keep dodging and stay on the other side of the arena from the boss spamming E'

-Gunplay neeeds a bit of work. I guess the dev wanted to make melee important, so the dev made guns shoot at peashooter-level damage. The shotgun especially feels really week. A full 10 clip headshot unload does not even kill the basic enemy. I found myself using guns as just a filler between my melee barrage cooldowns. I understand that melee should be important, but maybe increase the gun damage significantly and reduce the ammo.
-The story is pretty much so far the usual cliche. MC is up against an evil organization out to take an important relic, catastrophe happens and monsters appear. Sounds familiar?
-Optimization has some issues, my PC heats up like the sun when I play this game. Then again, Early access?

Points to note:
There is an outfit unlock system, although its pretty much an FPS, so the outfits only come into use during cutscenes. Still, the base outfit and the one you get for finishing the current episode are pretty cool and of decent quality.
There are puzzles in this game, though the current release only has one. Still, dev might add more in the following months.
For those who seek long lasting replayability, this game is probably not it. There is a score system so you can replay again to get better grades, however in the end its still a singleplayer campaign without additional modes (so far). However, at this price you're likely to enjoy whats on offer and get your money's worth.

I mean, come on. Its cheaper than a movie ticket.

Whether you are an avid Battlefielder disappointed with the latest offering from EA, or just want a modern BF style shooter fix, WW3 is a pretty decent buy, and its definitely worth its asking price.

--Aesthetics--
WW3 is pretty. The game does a good job at representing its most urban locations well, with very detailed environments, good lighting, and an interesting array of locations on site. Whereas in Battlefield you are generally fighting in one environment throughout the map, in WW3 the maps are expansive, so you can be fighting in a mall, on the streets or in an apartment complex, all in the same map. It's a good variety offered, and does its job of providing you with an immersive playspace to engage in.

Sound design is good. Its not Insurgency-type realism and war shock, but its very close to the Battlefield style audio experience. Guns sound loud enough to be distinguished and gives away your location, but they lack the oomphf of Insurgency:Sandstorm and Arma's. The ambient music and noises are great too. Nothing too spectacular, but it works.

Overall great aesthetics, which actually mirror AAA titles. 9/10.

--Gunplay--
Gunplay is again similar to Battlefield, with pretty high TTKs on body shots and very fast TTK on headshots. There is the armor system in this game, so an opponent wearing the highest level of helmet and chestplate protection will take a noticeable amount more of bullets to kill. This can feel jarring at times, as you can engage first, yet still lose a firefight because the other dude has a better armor piece.

There are only land vehicles so far, and aside from conquest giving your team 1 or 2 tanks on spawn, most vehicles are called in with BP, the game's scorestreak system that you use to call in scorestreak rewards such as vehicles or airstrikes.

Overall if you enjoy Battlefield, you'll enjoy this. Aim for headshots, as they significantly lower the TTK. 8/10.

--Progression--
Progression is through an ingame money system where you earn roughly 2-3K $ per full match and use the cash to buy unlocks. A gun costs around $18K, and attachments are around 3k each. You can buy outfit items like cosmetic helmets and balaclavas/clothes at $10k per piece. There's no MTX, thankfully. 9/10

--Gameplay--
Right now theres two modes, TDM and conquest, they both play out exactly as you expect, but one thing about conquest is that right now it usually lopsided, so one team will be entirely dominating the other. Hopefully Farm51 further tweaks the balance to reduce the amount of 'teamrape'. 9/10

--Technical--
Not very good on this front. I tis Early access though, and the devs are a small studio, so give them some time to work on the title. The issues aren't so bad though, as in my 15 hours played I have crashed a few times but mostly only in the menu or while loading. There is definitely lots to improve on, as bugs, getting stuck, networking and no dedicated servers might cause many people to not want to buy this game. But its playable, and steam has 2 hours refund time to try, so give it a go. 5/10

Final verdict:
WW3 scratches that modern day BF itch. It provides a fun environment for you to try a ton of stuff out. I enjoy the free form class creation as it allows me to try out some fun combinations such as sniper/ammo or sniper/drone etc.... Some dont like it and prefer BF's limited classes, but this one is personal preference really. It's a great game for its asking price, and its definitely worht the 30 bucks, just be prepared to face a few bugs here and there.

9/10
